Waite is finished. We should go after Goldstein. They have lost love for him, but he is a good ruckman and can kick goals. Would compliment Kruezer as they are both similar players and we could easily rest one in the forward line. Let's face it Phillips is not going to make it as he has not impact around the ground.
The others may develop but unlikely.

Hopefully Dusty will take North's offer of 1.5 million per season. In three years Norf will be playing out of Tasmania.
No room for both Goldy & Kreuz.
Keep Kreuz, Phillips (& Rowe) for backup, Delist Gorringe & Korcheck, Draft a project ruckman to learn the trade from Kreuzer.

Goldy has 3-4 years in him. Agree with Gorringe and Korchek, but we need Goldy. Phillips is basically a witches hat only to play when there is a dire emergency. SOS & co going to have some tough decisions to make next year. Be interesting to see what Gibbs does next year. If Adelaide weren't prepared to offer much last year, it will be even less this year, especially if they win the flag. If they don't make the GF then it could change.

Might cop a bit of heat for this but I would like to see it.

IF Cas leaves and Nth don't offer Waite a deal I would like to see him back in Blue for a year to help out Charlie and H.

This is only if the club feel fwd support is needed whilst the other 2 develop.

It angers me how through the clubs poor management guys like Waite and Betts were pushed out.

This would align with Bikts wanting to connect to past players.

10-15 games would be ideal and I think he would be more dangerous than Cas.

Possibly you will but a definite NO to Waite. Don't want him anywhere near our kids.

He is finished!

That's your problem right there. There is no god... unless you are talking about Ablett senior.

Boekhorst's future is in some hack country town where the annual competition is to hurl the skinny guy over a boundary fence instead of a discus. Longest throw wins a can of fosters and a date with their own mum.

Makes mistakes under pressure

Should closely watch the captain under pressure then.
Everyone makes mistakes under pressure. Just depends how many you make and how good you may be to avoid pressure where possible.

Good thing right now, is that Boekhorst has some currency, albeit not exactly a lot. We should be glad for that

Goldstein?? Why not bring back Ackland and French instead you get 2 plodders instead of one and could pay them both rookie wages.

Totally agree. Goldstein makes absolutely no sense. Kruezer has thrived this year being the sole ruck. Phillips is similar in that he needs to ruck 80%. Bringing in Goldstein wouldn't be cheap in Salary Cap or draft picks and doesn't bring anything we don't have. Sure club wouldn't even consider it as we have many more pressing issues.

Debatable. Lets not jump and down after a couple of solid performances. If he was that good we would have signed him. The fact he has been made to wait shows me what SOS & Co think. Finally the club is making considered, strong decisions

But Considering Both Goldy & Kreuz are used to rucking up to 90% of the game, who do you think would be happy playing in the VFL?

The only thing Boekhorst has done with his performances of the last couple of weeks is maybe got himself another chance as a depth player on a one year contract. Anything longer than that would be crazy.

He would have absolutely no currency with other clubs at all. The only way anybody else is going to be willing to take him maybe is as a dfa.

Making comparison between him and Murphy should never happen, it's ridiculous.

I reckon Boeky is a chance for brownlow next year.

Hang on a minute. I'm not talking about the overall output as there's no comparison, but let's just say I'm not the only one who has noticed Murphy doing as much as he can to avoid a hit, preferring to give the 'hot potato' off to someone else.

Maclure, of the Mark variety, has come out this week, saying that it's the right time for Marc to hand over the captaincy and I agree with him.
No-one really wants to voice anything against the captain, as it's a symbolic position and to knock the captain seems to be tantamount to knocking the club..........it shouldn't really be, but it sort of is.

Back to Boekhorst; We all know his deficiencies as they have regularly been on display and maybe he has got me bluffed but his efforts in recent weeks have been more than just a step-up in effort. Watch last weeks game again focusing on Boekhorst and you'll know what I mean........but yes, there's that kick along with another soft effort.

What I mean by currency, he looks much less likely to be de-listed than he looked 10 weeks ago.

Whether that be currency to us by way of another year, or traded to another club that feels they may get more out of him than we've been able to.

Yes, well different people will see different things, Bolton on Talking Footy praised Murphy for his organisation of the midfield and his leadership.

I'd agree that the time is right for him to relinquish the captaincy, focus more on his own game and supporting the new captain. That I'm sure will be a decision he will have to take for himself though.

I also agree that Boehhorst is more likely to survive now, I took 'currency' to mean as potential trade value, my bad then.

It may also backfire as Hawthorn were seen as a go to club with players hoping to be involved in the 'Dynasty'.
Can't think of anyone that wanted to leave actually (apart from Lewis & Mitchell where were given the initial push).

Brad Hill was one but the go home factor was the reason there which is exactly the issue that GWS face in holding their players and I think that is probably more likely than less if they snag a flag.

Not sure what else we could expect from the coach.

Waite this season has average 2.2 goals per game and 4.9 marks. Thats hardly the stats of someone who is finished. Waite would be free. Gold would not.

Yeah I read that also. My point was, Blaine is surplus to our list and won't be in the best 22 going forward. As a native to WA, better to find him a home at Freo and ensure we Secure Balic who wants to return to Vic (and would be looked at by other clubs). Win/Win for Club & Boekhurst

Im actually warming to Blaine as a player. He has continually improved this year in both AFL and VFL. His game will improve as we get better in my opinion. Would like to see him stay but if it suits all parties ill be fine with it.

I considered that, but then also looked at their location and reputation and couldn't see the same thing happening. Brisbane in the early thousands are a much better comparable, but the circumstances are different

Waite would be free in a free agent sense. But he'd not be free in a negative culture sense. I'd almost rather Fevola than Waite on the current list.

Instead of creating a separate post, re: Boekhorst

Calling this now. His 2018 season will be a breakout season in a Tom Bell type of way. I'd sign him to a one year contract, keep him in the senior team in 2018 and trade him after that.
