Not sure balic is the answer
That's the thing.....shallow draft pool and no second rounder.
If Gibbs and Cas stays I don't know where the picks come from.....unless we start swapping futures for current picks for this draft
We can't get rid of too many players right now, we don't have that many picks to replace them do we as it stands?

If balic is the answer, what the **** is the question? Not sure balic is the answer
I don't think it's shallow at all. Very even. There will be good players late

Fair call but we need to add experience as well as trying to find talented kids!
Bloody rebuilds suck

Apparently.Do we really need to go through this again [emoji15]
How do you figure?
The Top 20 looks very patchy and low-quality and there looks to be a drastic drop-off after Pick 30.
JMO. I think there will be a lot of good players and very even after about pick 20. Not an obvious draft but an even one.
Hmmm, I'll have a crack and present a team for round 1 next year...
Delistings/ retirees:
- Armfield
- Buckley
- Gallucci (r)
- Glass-McCasker (r)
- Gorringe
- Graham
- Jaksch
- Korchek (r)
- Palmer
- Sheehan (r)
- Smedts (? Contract ?)
- Sumner
- White
Keep A. Silvagni on the Rookie list.
FA Compensations:
- End of 2nd round (~36) for Levi leaving.
Potential DFA pickups: (Need approximately 3 with proposed trades and picks left over.)
- Redpath (KPF depth)
- Miles (Contested midfield depth, think he has potential still and could be a useful starter)
- A ruck, perhaps Trengove or Spencer.
Trading:
- Gibbs to Adelaide for picks 17 and 35
- 5th round pick to Freo for Balic
- Pick 3 and 36 to GWS for Kelly
- 4th rounder to GC for Matera
Picks
- 17, 35, early 3rd round, 6th round
LemmingMaster, Arr0w and whoever else is keeping close tabs on the draft can you suggest any players for at least our first 2 picks in this situation (17& 35)
Round 1 vs Richmond:
FB: Plowman Jones Marchbank
HB: Docherty Weitering Byrne
C: SPS E Curnow Murphy
HF: Pickett Mckay Wright
FF: Fisher Redpath J. Silvagni
R: Kreuzer Cripps Kelly
I/C: C Curnow, Simpson, Williamson, Matera
- Rowe, Asos & Macreadie ready to step into the backline
- Boekhorst, Cuningham, Balic, Miles, Thomas, Kerridge ready to step into the midfield
- Phillips, DFA pickup as developed ruck help
- Lamb, Kerr as the only pure f50 depth options
With 4 draft picks to add
Rookie list will have:
- Lebois
- ASos
- Perhaps international rookies/ mature age recruits.
This team looks better through the midfield, needs more for the f50 and a small defender or two. Only 4 draft picks with still a fair few needs suggests this draft is an extremely important one. SOS has plenty to get right still.
Based on what though?
My opinion
Which is grounded in what information? Curious
Me watching the Under 18s most weekends. Can't I have my own opinion?
Looks about right. Was there comments today on radio that Redpath has re signed with Dogs?
My look at it is. Best 30 ish
Docherty Weitering Plowman
Marchbank Jones Williamson
Kruezer Charlie Hopper
Pickett Cripps SPS
Murphy McKay Cuningham
LeBois Kerr Silvagni
Int From: Curnow Rowe Byrne Polson Fisher ASOS Lamb Wright Macreadie Balic Miles Phillips Pick 3 plus another 3-5 picks.
The rest are depth or back up in Northern Blues
You really have a thing for Lebois...
Don't think there's any chance he's in our round 1 team...i mean he's a rookie and while he showed some glimpses this year he hasn't really done that much to earn a senior call up.
Also highly unlikely Kerr is in our round 1 team...maybe debut later in 2018.
Kind of goes against conventional wisdom and the accompanying thoughts of all hobby phantom drafters so far this year
All well and good to have an opinion, but if you can't back it up it's mostly left to optimism.
Looks like a good year to find value in the open market and through trading. Miles/Hopper/Wigg/Balic's value is perfect for what we're looking for rather than chase speculative picks later in the draft.
