O'Meara will average 90 imo. Not convinced he will be a keeper and who else have we got who will get the heavy tag/check?
I agree, somewhere between 88-94 looks about right

At $320k, I'm still trying to figure out if he's worth it as a stepping stone to a premo

averaging 91 he would still appreciate by 120K by hawthorns round 12 bye, and would need just another 40-50K to upgrade him to a super premium that has bottomed out

i would take that every day of the week.

Can anybody see any value in the $500k - $550k range? I can't see anything good

Prestia, Heppell, Viney, Wines and Shiel have ~105 potential, with Cotchin the only one who could get near 110 imo

O'Meara won't be a keeper, I wouldn't pick him as a keeper either. If he can cruise to his bye and turn in to J. Selwood then it's mission accomplished. You'll get 12 scores from O'Meara, and then swap him for Selwood in R13 and get rid of a possible 0 from your team ( or a possible rookie score ).

12 x 90 from O'Meara = 117k profit
12 x 95 from O'Meara = 140k profit
12 x Average vs Opponent = 140k profit ( plays GC twice before bye, used 90 as his average )

It's all about the timing with stepping stones though, but then you ask yourself the question "Do I really want to trade him?"

Ideally you want him stringing a 3 round average of 100-110 just before his bye to really juice his price up an extra 30-40k, then it becomes an issue of whether to trade him or not! Painful stuff, not sure I'm ready to put myself through more scenarios like that. I'm just going to sit back and watch him dominate for the Hawks this year.

I couldn't either. The best I got was Adams, with a look to transfer him into the backline during the season.

If I had to pick one, Shiel is the one I'd be taking in that group. Coniglio is out with an ankle. They'll be in no rush to bring him back in.

I don't like the Cotchin pick. He's only had one super premium year and it was 5 years ago now.

Too many better midfielders in the mix this year to be trying to pick 105 value I think. Better off picking 4-5 super premiums + Beams and then let the season prove who else is going to go 115+.

Any one of them could probably be a viable season long keeper as an M8. but the issue is if you go down that path you get to round 20 with 3 or 4 guys averaging just over 100 that you can justify as M8 but not as your M5, M6 and M7.

its not that hard to find an extra 100K. If you're spending over 500K you want them to be absolute studs and not have to worry about them for the whole year. Its like spending a couple of grand on plane tickets to paris and then staying in a dodgy backpackers to save yourself $20.

It's bloody hard to find $100k lol
:(

Does anybody know what Dustin Martin does to give away so many free kicks?

he was 18 for and 46 against last season

at -4 points per free kick, that alone cost him 112 supercoach points. If had broken even in terms of frees his supercoach average would have been 113!

I'd like to know if its something he can rectify or is it pretty much a bi-product of the way he plays and is always going to have this problem

Based on your projected average (the high end of 94), he won't make enough money to be a viable investment imo.

Libba, Matt Crouch.

Anyone thinking of starting LOCKie Neale? I was put off by his injury affected preseason, but he is an absolute ball magnet.
Had one poor game where Mitch Robinson hung off him at every turn and only managed 18 possessions. His next lowest possession count was 26. Had 16 games where he got over 30 possessions included 5 games with over 40! Fyfe playing alongside him is the great unknown, but I think it will help him; he won't get tagged as long as Fyfe is playing, he has a good outlet when he wins the hardball and will be a good outlet himself when Fyfe wins the hardball.
As mentioned earlier, had an injury-interrupted preseason, but still managed 80 w/ 66% TOG in JLT2 and 121 from 73% TOG in JLT3.
To add the cherry on top, he has played 21, 22 and 22 games in the last 3 years so very durable!

Gotta love Gaff's average stats for the last couple years: 30 touches, only 7 of them contested and 13 of them handballs; 1-2 tackles, 3-4 marks

Such a SC spud lol, the amount of times he's had 32+ touches and scored 60-90 is funny

Don't ask why I checked haha :p :D
He's DT gold this year.

Why not just start a rookie in his place and use the $200k to add an additional premo somewhere to begin with?

Powell-Pepper is looking like the only decent midfield rookie right now, certainly the only one that i would want on the field, and I cant see many more cropping up in the next week and a half. If Myers, or Berry were fit and ready, id take them in a heartbeat over o'meara, but at the moment i just dont look the look of any that are in line for round 1.

Myers downgrade at hopefully round 10 would be lovely.
