Interesting seeing how other boards operate.

There's a trickle of posts over there about the Francis injury. Probably more on here about it actually.

If one of our players got carried off we'd be mid-meltdown by now
I imagine like with any other cult Essendon supporters don't want to seem even slightly self critical lest they be ostricized.

I'm kind of glad there is no chicken little the sky is falling gif because otherwise I would have to use it so many times over the course of one season on this board!

2 weeks without being here? I'd like to see that.

Heat maps, thats the last on my list to give you shit about, my preference being:

Port supporters weren't bandwagon supporters they just stopped going to AAMI to change management.
Port went easy on us in the Walsh Showdown and you would smack us around this year.
Western Bulldogs weren't that good and would get found out and then they go on to win the flag.
I can't remember the game last year, but you reckoned Port were going to smack your opponent leading to an all mighty run to the Holy Grail but you got spanked.
If every Port player improves their metres gained by 50 metres a game that would be good.

There's more but they just spring to mind.

As for your excuse about injuries being behind your press failing that's another one to add to the list. You were shit from the start of the preseason before you could claim injuries. Some of the kids you brought up were actually ok, it was your senior players that were a let down, you even tried to offload one of them for being slack.

The less optimistic ones on here know our midfield is an issue, it's hardly an original thought on your behalf. As for Gibbs you bagged him when you thought we were going to get him and then claimed we needed him when we didn't, so you're full of shit.

1. Our membership is above 50k for the third year in a row, with two of those years being disappointing ones. Bandwagon?

2. I never said we went easy. I said you took advantage of the situation knowing that there was no way we could retaliate in kind because we'd look like the biggest ogres in the history of Australian sport. As for smacking you around - not my fault Ken thought that the game was going to get slower when it actually got faster. Maybe we'll get the chance this year :)

3. At the time I posted that (February/March I believe), the Bulldogs weren't that good from a statistical standpoint. I changed my opinion of them during the year once I saw that they were generating more scores from their midfield. But that being said...I still don't think they are some uber team (though they are very good at what they do). The only thing they are elite at is winning the ball from centre bounce (ranked 1st) and pressure against opposition defensive 50 (3rd) and opposition offensive 50 (2nd), on the back of being the side that won the most free kicks in the competition by a considerable margin.

4. That was against Melbourne. Meh. I'll take Marshall, Powell-Pepper, Atley and Drew.

5. We'll see at the end of the year about that one. Remember - two extra 25m forward kicks per game = 50m.

6. And we'll see about that one too. Bet you it works much, much better this year with the right players playing and not injured.

7. When I made my comment about Gibbs being a front running squib, it was in reply to someone saying that if he goes to Adelaide you would be flag favourites. Which you wouldn't have been, because that's exactly what he is. However, he WOULD have complemented your midfield and enabled you to reach a prelim, which would be enough to attract a Dustin Martin at the end of this year for the final piece of the puzzle. Teams need outside front runners to present options down the field, just as they need players doing the grunt work.

It's been real.

1. But your crowds are down from their high in 2014 and your crowds got down to 13k when you were really shit. Youve been competitive but not good enough over the last 2 years, your crowds and memberships shouldn't have dropped.

2. So you got it wrong.

3. So you got it wrong.

4. So you got it wrong.

5. And if the other teams also improved by two kicks? Be real.

6. So you got it wrong.

7. You are full of it.

Adelaide lowest crowd was a night snow was forecast. You have 15 of the bottom 16 attendances and 6 of them were last year.
Bandwaggoners - you bet you are.
2. EC is right
3. "At the time " - no credibility once you start blaming hindsight
4. Melbourne ......say no more
5. And your "good" players from the "break out 2014 " side are 4 kicks slower - you also do not have Schultz but you do have Dixon (yay)
6. My favourite. 2015 you were shit - who were you missing from the 2015 team that would have made such a difference in 2016 ?
7. Hindsight again - a bitch, isn't it !

Heat map that.

Re the Heat map. Just refer to post #1758..........and rotate image anticlockwise just once. That should do the trick.

I read your 2017 ladder prediction on your board, are you still backing Port Power for a top 4 finish?

I think Port were really hoping a team other than Gold Coast would take up their "we want to play in China but won't give up a home game" plan

It had to be the other team giving up a home game, because the team selling the game gets compensation

And no one was going to play port and help them without getting compensation; so it had to be the opposition selling the home game

GCS rightly are then saying "it's our home game"

Port can't have it both ways

He's right. The loss of Enright means Geelongs defense is greatly weakened so can't be in the 8

But yeah, put Port and Collingwood in there ...
And now they're talking about moving their best defender in Taylor into the forward line ......will Geelong have any quality experience in their defense?
