Difficult to hold them down for 4 quarters plus they match up on us better than most.

I think our pace we've suddenly discovered this year completely shifts our matchup vs them.

Previously they were able to play the lose back and cut off all our forays forward. This year we've actually got the ability to run and carry over their zones.

Hope you're right.

Not worried about Geelong.

For me it's between us and GWS.
Geelong have the wood on us, their defensive structure has always worried us.

4 teams in it and they are one of them.

GWS will be very tough to beat late in the season away.

You want to be facing GWS only at the G on GF day. Definitely need to avoid them in the finals draw.

Do they match up poorly?

On paper West Coast forward line should give Hawks nightmares.

Hawthorn have shut down any clean entries into the forward 50 by West Coast and West Coast are too one-dimensional in alway going to Kennedy who is being tag teamed. Clarkson has his mojo back this week.

So the Hawks have been comfortable against both interstate sides they have played albeit going down to us in a close match.
Shouldn't have been as close as it was, and they got touched up badly last time they played away.

Someone needs to explain english to the person who writes their captions. "Hawthorn have now lost their last seven games." Considering there is a game in progress in which they are in front on the scoreboard, it isn't a "now".

This is why I make the point. For some reason Adelaide / WCE at home is still their comfort zone. (yes they did lose to the Crows but played well)

They were an excellent team on paper against us, with some fine young players dropped. However, I don't think their established stars have been very interested in playing this year. If they start trying, look forward to different results.
