Played in winning VFL for Footscray and did well enough to get drafted into the AFL at the end of 2016.

Had minor surgery over the pre-season and hasn't been in the spotlight accordingly, but as a mature-aged recruit he was always a bit more likely than some 18-year old to get an early debut.

Played VFL as a leading full-forward type in the Brad Johnson sort of style, but isn't overly tall (189cm).

The only reason I went Simpkin is that his spot is more secure. Swans are much harder to stay in the team.

Butler v Houston?

Butler pretty popular but he leaves me flaccid. If Otten doesn't make the 22 I'll have to do the old Hibberd/Pickett DPP switcheroonie which means another fwd rookie will have to come in, but Butler will have already played so it would need to be Florent, Simpkin, Bowes or the like.

Are these types worthwhile over Dan Butler? If so I'll pass on him and take Houston.
