He is 22 and fits our rebuild perfectly. If he was 28 it's a different discussion.
But that's also the reason not to. We won't compete in the next 12 months. We don't have to get it done this year. Why bend over when we can pick him up discounted next year? The Crows needed Gibbs because of his immediate impact. Charlie's immediate impact is unimportant, as we aren't going to be looking at finals next season.

Good grief. Cameron, Schache, pick swaps. 57 minutes left...

The problem is 17 other clubs in their right mind will never offer Pick 12 for Cameron who requested a trade. We are the only club in the market. Also Cameron will be 24 years old next season. The reason I'm assuming you would give up pick 12 is based on potential of the player he could become. I see that potential as a risk if you analyse and see his progress the last 3 years, he has stagnated.

I'm not willing to give up one of A. Bonar, L. O'Brien and H. Clark for Cameron, specially when we have picks 18 and 20 in our back pocket.

Yes, pick 40. The guy averages 10 disposals and less than a goal a game in a top side.

What are you expecting from him in our developing side? Highly unlikely his numbers get better with us, given how little we get the ball inside 50.

What makes this worse is that we basically could get him for nothing next year. So, so, so, stupid

He is also young and can turn a game on its head, not to mention he is a player that brings people through the gates. Did you see what he did to us the Gabba this year? Did you happen to watch the Geelong Semi final? Pick 40 is plainly rediculas, I think we should try and be semi reasonable in our discussions on this and not let our rage blind us.

whinged enough apologies, but the clubs outside Victoria have absolutely bent themselves over this trade period, mainly GWS, GCS, Adelaide and most likely Brisbane, ridiculous

If Cameron was on the market and happy to go anywhere, you have no idea what other clubs would pay for him. He is also contracted, a small detail everyone keeps leaving out.

Reasons I am happy with pick 12 IF it goes through.

- He fills a need for us that we are DESPERATE for, speed / small forward / run and carry
- It is apparently a weak draft
- He is contracted so we need to pay overs
- He WANTS to join our club
- He perfectly fits the age bracket
- I am willing to back, given he has been unhappy the last 2 years, he will improve with us

also - people keep pointing to his low stats at the Crows, ignoring how many other options (including the best small forward of all time) to go to on each entry.

Which trade would be more important right now.. CC or Schache?

45mins to do

Hodge
CC
Schache

Hodge not a big deal but i can see us missing out on one of the other 2 if one isnt done in the next 20mins
I'd be happy to do nothing, get Hodge in the PSD, keep Schache and take Cameron next year.

Look at the numbers mate... It's plain obvious Charlie is not worth close to Pick 12.

Plays 1-2 good games a season and all of a sudden he's a gun? No

I saw all the Crows games this year and he was absolutely terrible. He played a blinder in the final against the cats, but 15 of his other games were horrendous

Kennedy for 28 is a good deal for the Blues

If it's a weak draft shouldn't we be making an effort to keep pick 12 and maybe offload picks 18, 20 for Cameron and points for Academy kids.

Pick 12 is overs but there are reasons we might be willing to pay that. Pick 20 is about right. Pick 40 is plainly silly, that was my original point. Cheers.

They have killed the past few trade weeks since SOS has taken over. They are so far ahead of us now it's not funny.

SOS's inside dealings with GWS have been unbelievable for Carlton. Kennedy for 28 is an unbelievable steal...

I have to agree with you Size. Carlton is streets ahead of us now, hard to see us catching them

They are certainly building a nice list. I don't think they're that far ahead of us though.
