Just to be clear, 15 for Schache and 18 for Rockliff, not 15 for both!
6 picks means it's almost certain that Close and C. Beams will be delisted. Wonder if we'll use 52 to upgrade Hammer or redraft Close with C. Beams to rookie list.

Currently only 4 list spots with Rocky & Josh out and Charlie and Luke in.

So do we have enough points to pick up Ballenden with later picks? I gather we do. In the case we are getting 3 picks inside the top 18 and Ballenden and Cameron and Hodge. Not the total disaster that is being spruiked.

What we need to do much better is nail our pick 1. Aish and Schache have been disasters.

Again, lets not fall into the trap of overrating our academy players like we do every year.

We had people predicting first round bids on Allison last year.

People going mental over trading 20 and 25, this trade gives us late picks to match a bid for Ballenden and gets us 15. We weren't going to take 4 live picks to the draft, we needed to do something with the group of picks around 20. 1 15 and 18 will be a great haul, then we have Ballenden Cameron and Hodge.

We must have really really good mail that Ballendan won't be bid on before pick 18, or we're simply not going to match him before there.

That last trade gives us three picks in the top 18, and coincidentally our next two picks worth points (40 and 44) allow us to match pick 18 and later.

Certainly possible. And re. Charlie we also have to factor in his mental health and how badly he wanted out of the Crows. Perhaps part strategy and part compassion. More important things than winning a footy trade. Same deal with Schache.

Overall now that we have pick 15 I'm quite content.

And re. the Suns deal - surely they have pick 5 or something else coming back. 2 / Matera for Weller is way overs. But you also have to factor in that Weller is a local with zero GH factor.

Only if you ignore the Ballenden situation. Quite possible we just created a live first round pick we wouldn't have had otherwise.

I think you're letting logic get in the way there. We should be marching toward the Gabba demanding Noble and Co be sacked because we didn't sign Fyfe, Dangerfield and Martin with picks 18 & 20.
