I don't like relying on players who have shown nothing at the top level. I think Skinner has a future besids Andrews but we need real results. Fraught with danger to wait around. What if he does a knee again which is fairly high chance given the tendency for ligaments to be brittle after multiple injuries. Anyways was just a discussion as I don't think something like this would occur.

Also seems a bit quantity over quality. All could be very good players, but I wouldn't say any look like absolute must haves. If I had to pick one, it would be Kennedy- but I also suspect he's the one GWS would prefer to keep. He seems fairly assured at afl level without setting the world on fire, and is a lot more versatile than Hopper. Hopper strikes me as quite one dimensional, kinda feels like the hype surrounding him has more to do with his pre-draft reputation. Based on what I've seen, Himmelberg would be most likely to compete with Gardinder for a spot. Better intercept player and more versatile, but a fair way behind as a defender. I don't see much point in paying a high price for a player who wouldn't necessarily have a spot.

Yes. Moves well, uses the ball well, would complement the slow and steady Andrews. Himmelberg isn't the 'jewel' of the trade BTW, more so balancing it out. Would rather a pick upgrade going back our way but GWS doesn't have the currency AFAIK.

If I were you, I would want to go to GWS and say "Hopper and Matthew Kennedy for pick 1" I am not sure if GWS would take that deal, but getting two high quality kids like that into your midfield would be so much more useful to you than pick 1 would be.

I hope you guys don't mind me coming onto this board but given what your list is like, I think it would be a good idea for you to trade pick 1. If I were you, I would want to go to GWS and say "Hopper and Matthew Kennedy for pick 1" I am not sure if GWS would take that deal, but getting two high quality kids like that into your midfield would be so much more useful to you than pick 1 would be.

Plus we can get them onto contracts longer than 2 years and they'll be more mature next time they're out of contract. Gets rid of the risk of putting in 2 years of development and having to trade them at a discount.

He had definitely considered it at one point and we'd spoken to his management, so to say it is rubbish isn't quite right. It was always a longshot nonetheless and if it weren't for the Matho connection I doubt it'd have been looked into.

I think most of it was a bit of banter. I know I certainly mentioned Beast Mode and Darcy close relationship a few times for a bit of a laugh. Was always a long shot.

Turns 27 before the start of next season, good player but would rather we went for 23 year old Charlie Cameron.

Do not believe Gold Coast would trade 4 picks for 1. More likely 1 and 18 for 5, 22, 23 & 24.

First thing to remember is that the second round picks will likely get moved back somewhat for a couple of end of first round compensation picks.

Pick 5 I would be going best midfielder, and really like Paddy Dow.

I'd be seriously trying to package pick 15, 22 & 23 together to trade for a high enough pick to hopefully draft Nick Coffield.

Port's pick for Cameron is a massive overpay. More like pick 24 for Cameron.
