I dont blame him for looking at options.
He hasn't been given much of a go this year.
Does seem on the outer a little.
Yeah I can't blame him, but Collingwood....he will never kick straight again.

I didn't mind Honeychurch but really can't see him being best 22 in 2 years, therefore feel he'd be depth.

To each their own though :)
Poor disposal, and the same "flaws "as Bewick, sorry.Have watched him frequently in both ressies and firsts.

-Let Rockliff go need to make our midfield younger
-Trade if possible: Bewick, Rich, Lester,

Tradewhisperer is probably a decent person.
There's more to a poster behind the keyboard.
Where's the respect?

Wouldn't be surprising at all if close is lookin at options. Currently well behind in the KPF rankings.

Was anything but correct with any info last year.

I'd hate to lose Close, he deserves more opportunity IMO. But he'd be nuts not to be assessing his options. Both Collingwood and Richmond would be great fits for him.

Yeah, technically.

I'd be surprised if that scenario arises again for anyone other than a genuine franchise player. The whole attraction of a free agent is that you make your list stronger without losing anything in a trade.
We let our only true franchise player go to Essendon.

They literally just make stuff up while pretending to be someone with inside knowledge. Why should we respect that? It's not like anyone is throwing aspersions on them personally.

What happens if there isn't one in the draft.

Allegedly.

I thought he accidentally posted on the wrong twitter account (ie a trade whisperer tweet on his personal account) or something along those lines.

Close is probably more likely to be delisted than traded. Another Xavier Richards if true.

But 99% utter garbage.

Like to keep close, but we need to give him a few games before seasons end. He seems to always be a bit hard done by and not given as much opportunity as he deserves.

Would be a good fit for Richmond, but screw them let's build some depth

Hipwood
Schache
Walker
Close
Hammer
Freeman

At the moment Close is 4th in line- he will drop to 5th if Ballenden comes in based on potential.

I'd much rather lose hammer and Freeman than Close. I do think Close is good enough to hold a spot in a best 22 somewhere though so can't begrudge him if he is assessing his options.

But simply Adelaide forced a trade to get more in return and were willing to keep Danger; we may be in the same position with Rocky.

Sorry to intrude. Instead of Matching the offer to force a trade the clubs would know now what is happening possibly. Wouldn't it be better for the Lions to ensure Rockliffs new contract meets band 1 compo. By this I mean if lions took say a Mackay or Douglas(I know they are whipping boys) but they are on decent cash $400k each roughly. Both out of contract next year. If you guys took one of them on and absorb their contract and gave an extra year so the player agreed on less $$ onwards. Thus allowing us to push Rockliffs contract into band 1 and getting you guys pick 2 and just deal with Mackay for 2 years.

Even if it's just two years it would still diminish our compensation for free agency compensation for Rockliff

Yeah they'd have to trade us one of those players in order to offset that, and the AFL would well and truly smell the poop.

Not sure if I'm missing your point, but if we did anything to clear salary cap pressure for you, why wouldn't we just insist on a player we actually wanted, like Cameron for example?
