Not sure what that might include? I highly doubt clubs would want to give up a player and a pick for him? Maybe a future pick next year? I just hope he doesn't walk for an ordinary deal.
Show me the money...I am sure his manager will say lol.

You have to laugh really. On one hand they're saying a club should offer a pick on the 15-20 range because it is a weak draft; yet on the other, they ignore the very fact that we'd just willingly accept a pick in the range of 15-20, again, in a supposed weak draft.

It really is crazy that they think (a) we'd be dumb enough with a shrewd operator like Noble at the helm; and (b) they forget the fact Schache is contracted for 2 years.

Just watching footy classified and apparently Lloyd is Josh Shak s mentor.....he said he is not happy and a Vic club would be mad not to offer lions pick 15-20 in this weak draft.
Lol if Lloyd really is Schache's mentor then he's a fool for talking about this situation on TV, if it's even true at all.

Dunno if it is the years of being fed shit from other clubs but if we accept pick 18 for Rocky via FA and pick 15 for schache from Richmond then this club is useless. I wouldn't expect this to happen with our operators atm but still a lingering fear they might. Schache not happy is not good for morale and might want to get rid of him, taking unders. Got no idea what is happening with Rocky

So if we get 2 for Rocky and 7 and a player for schache they are geniuses?

But what's Shache really worth? He could be a star, but he could be a bust. It's a bit hard to know what to do with him.

We still lose as far as I am concerened but I guess its making the most of a bad situation?

The situations with Rocky and Schache have got me in a bit of a funk today. The possibility of Rocky being allowed to leave to a club like Carlton (who like us are a work in progress) for a pick around 18/19 is just stupidity. Fair enough if he goes to a club 'in the window' or Carlton come up with 8-900k. Good luck to him if thats the case. But if its for a contract of around 6-700k and we dont move to ensure we keep him we have made a monumental stuff up. We will have effectively told him to get stuffed. It will really hurt watching him support and help develop Carltons younger players as they struggle to rise up the ladder.

Schache situation is also grinding my gears. Im holding on to the hope all the chat is just based on wild speculation. If its not and something eventuates you once again have to question the point of taking players in the top end of the draft. They just dont stay. Regardless of what we do they find a reason to leave.
Anyway I really hope in a few weeks time we are all submiting best 22 posts that include Rocky and Schache. If thats the case im sure a few of us will have a bit of fun on the main board :)

This is the sweetest victory of all. This is a victory for the true believers; the people who, in difficult times, have kept the faith. Paul Keating, 13 March, 1993.
Might apply to us by the end of trade tedium week(s). I reckon they'll both stay and we'll have some good gets to welcome to the Lions as well. None of the speculation this off season has been right so far, & I can't see why this will change.

Very true

It kinda slipped out of Lloyds mouth...........once he realised what he had said he tried to cover uo by saying I mean he has gone home twice so I guess he is unhappy.

Not as much as the compensation would be very generous (pick 2) and he would be getting a pretty sweet deal (overs).

Rockliff meeting with Blues today and doing a medical. Big offer from blues, I'd say he is gone this time. In fact I'm told he is as good as gone. Pick 2 or pick 18 compo, we'll make it work, the club is in a good place in the football department now. We have a respected coach who also respects his own environment (unlike Leppitsch the ungreatful w***er) and Noble and recruiting department. Last year was a great draft haul, am excited what we might be able to draft this year. We are on the rise lions fans!

Call me old fashioned, but not for a minute does it sit well with me that Rockliff is meeting with Carlton to the point that my attitude towards Rockliff is one of "don't let the door hit you on the way out".

It's one thing for a players manager to listen to offers etc., but to meet a club and its players is disrespectful to the current club.

I hope he goes now; completely uninterested in his low tactics, which I acknowledge that Rockliff isn't alone in.

I thought it would be pretty par for the course. These days its probably a little less common given the rise of managers, whereas back in the days a lot of players would have done this themselves. Listened to Pikey talking how he met with Matthews and Allan in a melbourne hotel before he signed with the Lions. It would happen far more often than reported. At the end of the day as an employee you'd be fairly silly to not meet with a possible employer if you were looking at a move. I've done it before yet still stayed in the same job post interview process and I certainly still did a very good job for my employer afterward.

Over reaction. IF he goes it will be to set his family up. His last big contract.

The club is in a better place and paying what they are worth to us. Anything is worth what somebody is willing to pay. We are willing to pay x, somebody else says this worth y.

Going to be very hard to sell losing one of our best players to another rebuilding club for pick 18.

Best of luck to our lovely media team. Enjoy the break while you have it.
