Have you read much of this board ? The masten and priddis love threads ? For fas's mental health, I hope the Eagles don't recruit him. This board ( and I don't really look at other clubs boards ) is a complete disgrace at times.

I don't think players look at Bigfooty or care what keyboard warriors think.

I'd like Fas for the right price, we have need of goal kicking half forwards.

I have high hopes in Venables playing that role as well.

From my understanding from a very closely connected friend, Chris Masten has been pretty distraught this year. And I think it is quite clear what Pridda thinks of big footy. Anyone who cops disparaging comments is effected even if you try to shut it out. Think of the comments directed at Masten, if they were said to you by numerous people, do you think it would effect your mental health ? Quite frankly it is disgusting . Who would want to be a player ? Idolised one day demonised the next . Gotta love this generation.

Players have always copped criticism from fans. In the pub, between friends, down at footy training... contrary to popular belief in this stupid PC day and age, you're still actually allowed to have an opinion on something. Barely allowed (as demonstrated by that chick getting sacked for voting 'No')

Only difference is nowadays there's the internet and social media, which means private discussions about player X aren't so private anymore and are readily accessible to someone who's actually looking. Having a discussion on this board about Marsden is exactly the same as if we all met up each weekend and talked footy together.

It's the responsibility of the AFL player/celebrity/whoever to control just how much of peoples opinions they are getting. If they don't want to be reading everyone's views then they need to stay the **** off twitter, stay off facebook and avoid certain news tabloids. I know i sure as hell would. Controlling "vile opinions" is nobody's responsibility but their own.

If a player is going to jump on google, look up bigfooty, find his team and start going through threads... you really think they have a right to be suprised and/or hurt about what they find?

Ditto jumping on the WCE facebook page and reading through comments. Generally from fans who's raw emotions are on display. Reckon that's a good idea?

Meh, as for me. I'd like to think i can criticize a player and keep it purely football related. Most people on this board can, the mods do a fair job. Here's the kicker though, everyone i criticize is better at football than me, that's how this thing works, being a fan.

Will Schofield and Chris Masten both contracted are expected to stay unless unforseeable trades occur .

Eagles have accepted their mid-field needs an overhaul , but are keen to retain strengths at either end of the ground and are believed to be keen on drafting Subiaco livewire Liam Ryan .

We also trade Lycett and our entire rucks stocks are left as
Naitanui (coming off the knee injury), Vardy (Injury prone)

Trading out Lycett would be disastrous given how threadbare our ruck stocks are.

I am not of this generation and have never idolised masten

I do like well below his salary and do get direct criticism of my work performance.

Maybe the mods need to actually mod a bit more than they do.

It's a discussion forum. People are allowed to have negative views about players.

If you want mods to go around deleting any negative comment about a player in case that player might happen to read it and get upset, you'd need about 50 of them. But only for a while, because eventually this place would be deserted as everyone except a few Facebook mums would have buggered off to somewhere else where they can speak their mind.

Accepted the midfield needs an overhaul but not keen on trading anyone. Can't wait to see how that works out
