Starcevich second or 3rd round please
Rated as a 3rd round to rookie pick.
Described as an effort player so similar to McGinnity.
Suggest he will be available in the rookie draft.

No murmurs about Mountford yet. I wonder if there was anything in the rumours about him at all?
Why would we pickup hartung?
Gaffs a better player all round.
Whipping boy is a term that comes from history. It's an indictment on the list management that all the guys on the chopping block are Bigfooty whipping boys.
Highlights a lack of creativity from our list management team to not even consider the possibilities. Either that or over-rating Gaff's potential to impact games, and how easily or not that it might be replaced. The Saints used Monday's "speed dating" session to enquire about Adam Tomlinson, but that was quickly shut down by the Giants who declared him a "required player".
They also asked West Coast about Victorian midfield talent Andrew Gaff, but were met with a similar response.
"We've been told pretty clearly he's contracted and going to stay at the Eagles," Bains said.

The club seemed quite happy to hold Mitch Brown to account. What is Lamb's contract status?I agree but maybe they are scared to let go our Vic players while contracted if it then sets a precedent where it is OK to leave early...

On the flip side maybe some are guilty of underrating his value to the club.Just reading of the AFL's Trade Talk updating article:

It tends to not be the stars that jump ship. Judd the exception made sure we were well looked after (and as an unintended consequence seemed to kick off the modern practise of players nominating clubs).Yeah but he is no star though...
Or maybe Gaff has no desire to leave now or in the near future so the club isn't going to push him out. Whilst we need to be creative, we don't want to start pushing our good players out the door.
Good point.Just reading of the AFL's Trade Talk updating article:

Absolutely agree. I sure hope they have too. If he buggers off next year, we may have missed an opportunity.I am happy for him to stay but i do hope the club has sat down with him and asked him if he plans on sticking around past next year and if not how would he feel going this year?
