27 for Gov Jnr is bang on though, similar to the Yeo trade - a talented young player not yet a star who, most importantly, is out of contract and has nominated a club. All we need to do is satisfy Mitch himself with enough cash and the whole play-with-your-brother thing.McGovern is a tough trade as our picks arent quite right, 9 is too low and 27 wont be fair either. So some form of pick upgrades or a player is needed.
I'd have the following guys as worse picks ( even taking into account where they were selected )He was pick 3 mate and he isnt even a good wafl player

No need to complicate the trade up front unless Adelaide start being difficult.

Menagola taken at pick 66.
Bloke has 11 goals this year while averaging 24 touches, 6 tackles, 4 inside 50's and 9 contested possessions a game. He won't drastically improve our midfield but i would have suspected we would have had a better year last year as he would have stepped in for an injured sheed.
seriously stupid recruiting from our behalf.
I'd have the following guys as worse picks ( even taking into account where they were selected )
Todd Breman #2
Peter Higgins #10
Shane Porter #12
Shane Sikora #12
Brendon Fewster #3
Luke Trew #14
Jaxon Crabb #12
Brandon Hill #10
Andrew McDougall #5
Tony Notte #20
Tom Swift #20
Gerrick Weedon #22
Murray Newman #23
A few others that are border line but the ones above stood out to me.
And to Freos and Hawthorns recruiting staff as well. They delisted him. Lets not leave out that fact.Menagola taken at pick 66.

He tore up the wafl the year he got drafted as an inside mid. He was 23 (ideal age for us atm) at the time and a bigger bodies contested mid that we needed. He was delisted by 2 other clubs before getting to Geelong.
McDougall was a no. 5 pick? Geeez.I'd have the following guys as worse picks ( even taking into account where they were selected )

Would be playing for EP.He looks half decent as the 4th to 5th mid. Doubtful he would've changed our midfield much.
Mate he was one of the last picks in the draft. Not a bloody early pick. he 's 188cm contested mid that dominated WAFL and was exactly the type of pick we needed. I like Mutes and Allen but i'd rather have seen us been more proactive and fix our midfield issues. That draft we picked up a small mid, 2 back flankers (one with hopes of playing mid) and KPF.And to Freos and Hawthorns recruiting staff as well. They delisted him. Lets not leave out that fact.
It may, neither have much value but Allen is at least a like for like, if the Crows need a developing key forward.I agree and really hope that is how it pans out.
I just think the Crows will push for more, then hopefully a Karpany or Allen will get it done.
original comment said that he wont drastically improve our midfield. But in 2016 we missed sheed a lot. Menagola would have been a good replacement and made us stronger around stoppages. Even this year we would have been a bit better. He looks half decent as the 4th to 5th mid. Doubtful he would've changed our midfield much.

reasoning? He would have been our 4th in line mid like his role at the cats.Yeah nah.

last year he averaged 10 contested possessions and this year he is averaging close to 10 contested possession. We get smashed in that area and would have definitely helped when NN went out and no sheed in the side last year.
Was a baffling decision to draft an undersized tall defender instead of Ryan.Liam Ryan another 6 goals today against AFL listed defenders. But yeah nah lets rookie list Gorter instead
