No he isnt. Masten is a plodder, Hartung has genuine pace and can avoid a tackle using it. He can also break the lines with run and carry. Masten cant.Except he can’t do what gaff does and never will. He is a masten.

Rubbish how much did redden and sheed start on ball this year ? Very little !Yeah. Your right. In fact he was so impactfull and influential for us that he got dropped to the WAFL twice this season. In addition to being dropped to the WAFL for a lengthy stint the previous season too.
He was going so well and dominating the middle of the ground so much that the match committee were compelled to drop him to the WAFL. Absolutely compelled.
Twice.
In a team that was woefully underperforming generally and was crying out for experienced reliable players in the very area of the ground he plays in.
We were getting flogged in the midfield most weeks, we had nobody banging down the door in the WAFL for a spot in our midfield. And he is an experienced 100 game AFL player. And he still got dropped.
If only all our players played so well that they got dropped multiple times in one season.
robert walls doesn't watch us much and it seems you don't either. He's been played predominantly at HFF/wing more than as an on baller. That probably a huge reason why he doesn't win a heap of his own ball.
any way 43% of his possession this year were contested (decent number concidering he was at HFF/wing).
Carbine Chaos got a new account?Yeah. Your right. In fact he was so impactfull and influential for us that he got dropped to the WAFL twice this season. In addition to being dropped to the WAFL for a lengthy stint the previous season too.

2 inside ball winners forced out to the wings and flanks to get the crumbs of our midfield rotation .
Never got drafted 2012 and 2013 so not sure why certainly improved out of sight this season ....evidently Carlton are keen on Kelly and their first pick in the draft at this stage ( pre trade week ) is 38 hence we might need our pick 30 to draft Kelly . Brisbane also keen and they have picks 1 , 12 , 18 to use before Carltons pick 38 , NM also keen and have picks 4 & 21 in front of Carltons pick 38 .
Cannot see those top 20 picks used on Kelly , we will probably wait till later in the draft pick 48 or 67 and take Kelly or Schloithe whichever is left avaiable at that spot .....but maybe not because we are desperate for ready to go midfielders and Kelly could be that .
The point remains, he has been very, very disappointing for us and does not impact games. I am sure if the club could go back in time they would not do that trade again.

Average of 20 possessions , 5 marks , 5 tackles , 3.5 clearances , 44% contested possessions over the season .The point remains, he has been very, very disappointing for us and does not impact games. I am sure if the club could go back in time they would not do that trade again.

What goes around comes around. I think port wouldn't get a mitchel for pick 88 type deal as quick as we wouldSo tell me BOND 007. You don't think a club has never told a player they are recruiting that they value him highly, will eventually get the deal done but for the best interests of the club and the list which in turn effects their chance of success they will be doing their best to get him for as cheap as possible?
It's not that said player isn't worth a first it's that why give up a first when a second might do if they play hardball?
Did Port Adelaide stand firm with Ryder? a player they desperately wanted? I'm pretty sure it was Essendon who relented before the deadline because Port stood firm. Should Port has caved in to Essendons demands and given over Ollie Wines or Chad Wingard as Essendon requested?
The Suns demanded two first round picks for Dixon which is insane. Should they have given into Gold Coast or were they right to play hardball until such a time a fair deal could be done?
How about the Ebert deal. Could Port have offered us pick 28 and a player? How about a second and third round pick? Or did they use their leverage to secure a good player for as cheap as possible.
I could even use the Polec trade as an example as well which took almost all of trade period to get done.
From where i sit Port seem to be doing just fine standing firm when it comes to trades, the club isn't treated like a Leper colony, no players have walked away that they have publicly gone after regardless of whether it takes until the last day of trade period to get the deal done. I don't see any hurt feelings. Just players who are informed correctly of the situation. They seem to be doing extremely well as now Rockliff wants to join them this year as well.
Your attitude is a reflection of how timid West Coast are as a club. Don't offend the player because god knows we struggle to attract talent as it is, just get it done and because we're such good chaps hopefully other clubs will reward us for it down the track. I mean heaven help us if we made a player wait a few more days to get to the club.
Ah Chee is probably worth around a late third third but a fourth should get it done. He has been in the system long enough, has hardly played, is out of contract and despite what Port claim is not required and is nothing more than depth. But sure lets give them our third without trying to force the issue with our fourth.
That's what you're saying right?
Let's get serious here, It's not about revenge, it's not about what they "owe" us. It's just good business.
I'm not advocating that we become notoriously difficult to deal with like Essendon but we don't have to get the deal done a.s.a.p every bloody year without seeing whats the best we can do.
Maybe our recruiters and trading department just aren't up to scratch.
Just go back to my original comment. Stated he finished the year off well. His second half of the year was very good and most here would agree so.Yeah. Your right. In fact he was so impactfull and influential for us that he got dropped to the WAFL twice this season. In addition to being dropped to the WAFL for a lengthy stint the previous season too.

LOLHow would you know how many West Coast games Robert Walls watches? I would imagine that as a professional commentator he would watch every game, every week. Not necessarily live. But i am sure he will have watched most of our games.
And given that he is a Premiership Player and Coach i think his opinion is more highly qualified than that of a Fan Boy on a BF board.

Redden- Jury still out on redden. Finished the year strong and showed us why we drafted him.
Jetta- gets harsh treated but we gave away a depth player for him.
we really need to get wingers that can tackle . Gaff , masten , hill and hartung are all the same soft outside type .
Give me a matty rosa or Andrew embley tall marking outside mid who can lay a few tackles

Yeah but he was dropped twice. If you're going to point out that he got dropped twice - multiple times - you should probably note that the second time was to make way for a returning Priddis despite Redden having had a very good game against the Bulldogs in Priddis' absence, most on here were pretty angry that he'd been dropped, and he was back in the following week.
And as for the team "crying out for experienced reliable players in the very area of the ground he plays in", they actually had two Brownlow Medalists playing in that part of the ground and were struggling to fit in Redden and the other experienced reliable inside mids like Sheed and Hutchings alongside them. Hence why Redden was dropped the second time.
But you know, just keep repeating that he was dropped twice because you hadn't quite made your point the third or fourth time.
Redden's last 10 weeks (after being dropped) were consistently good, with a few very good games. His input was vital to us getting as far as we did, and he's shown enough to suggest he'll be valuable as we transition into a new midfield setup.Yeah. Your right. Coz that's seemed to work so well for us before. Bennell maybe mildly successfulWhat picks do we have? Maybe we could use the later pick to re-ignite the career of a delisted guy who has nothing to lose... dunno who but there would be bucket loads of them... is there a list of the nominated players that could be drafted? Or a list of each teams delisted players? Cheers

Those bagging Hartung are being a bit harsh, he's a quality player.
If Gaff left Hartung would be just the sort of replacement we'd need.
