Brady sounds level headed ...he's a keeper as long as they don't crumble to Port .

Port previously offered AHChee a contract ( one year ) wants more game time and to move to another club ...so he cant be a Delisted Free agent by the sounds of it .

Could trade Schofield and pick 30 - to Geelong for pick 20.

Trade pick 13 & next year 3rd rounder to St Kilda for pick 8.

Hitting the draft with pick 8 & 20 - would be a good result

It's suggestions like this that makes it easy to understand why people think we're rubbish at trade week.

People seem to expect us to absolutely screw other teams over and have no idea what a fair trade actually is.

I think this is a fair trade - Geelong need KPD & with Schofield that get 150 game experience one (will in premiership window) for a 10 pick downgrade in the 2nd round.

St Kilda get a 3rd round selection for the price of a 5 pick down grade in the 1st round.

Hardly far fetched

Thinking about the second part some more. Gold coast have so many second rounders they could be willing to trade our second rounder next year for their pick 24. GWS could be willing to do the same.

Pick 13 and 24 for pick 8 doesn't seem so far fetched. 8 would only be worth it if we were genuinely targetting say higgins and were sure he wouldn't be there at 13.

Can't see anyone offering anything particularly significant for Schoey given his age. I think that if he was FA this year, we'd probably get a 3rd round pick at best, which is probably about right.

Having a look at this draft, I don't see the need for us to trade up from 13. Even ignoring the KPPs, I can see a dozen players that meet our needs: Rayner, Dow, LDU, Cerra, D Fogarty, Brayshaw, Higgins, Coffield, Stephenson, Clark, Constable, O'Brien. If by some stroke of misfortune those are the top 12 picks, we can choose from Balta, Bonar, Shipley, Brander...

I think the only future picks you can trade are 1sts and 2nds at the moment.

Schofield probably has more currency than Ah Chee IMO. I reckon Schofield for Ah Chee in a straight swap would be reasonable.

Just a couple of thoughts about Ebert
He was always going to go back to SA and Port. Kind of mad to draft him.
After playing the whole season in the 22, McGinnity of all people was picked ahead of him in the finals. That speaks for itself.
He was heavily criticised on this board when he was playing for WC. It was only when he left that posters seemed to think he was any good.

I thought he was good and never wanted him dropped. I hated Selwood Swift Masten Stevens all of whom Mcginnity who played with heart could have replaced before Ebert.
Anyway that just shows how woeful our midfield has been for so long.
On another note that makes me sad.
GWS have at least 30 players on their list that will play 10 years. So when someone leaves not only do they have talented replacements that can fill the gap, they will continue to trade the homesick ones for low draft picks. Combine that with their own first round and 2nd round picks. They have a never ending bucket of talent.

I'm sceptical. Don't have high expectations for him and don't expect him at be a guaranteed best 22 by any stretch.
