Seriously though with the players we already have and that have been nominated as to spending more time in the midfield, we may need to look at some small forwards or backs. What happens if Rioli isn't the messiah and who do we have that can play on small forwards which seem to be all the rage ATM?

Who takes the small , medium forwards?

A blend of Cole, Sheppard, Watson, Duggan, Yeo and Nelson.

Sure lets rookie list a specialist small back as they dont tend to get the focus other positions get when drafting in the main draft.

They do tend to end up being mids who couldnt cut it for various reasons like Wellingham, Sheppard and Butler.

I don't want him but since his definition of long haul travel is from Melbourne to Hobart, he body may be OK.

Personally I’ll be hanging shit on Nisbett. Great commercial administrator but seriously lacking. Fix him you start to fix the structures and then on-field will improve.

Probably need a poll on this one. Candidates include LeCras, Weller’s if he stays, Hutchins, Darling (he will always be whipped by some for his dropped mark), then it gets harder.

North Melbourne's Sam Gibson is not happy about his de-listing after playing 130 consecutive games . He says he's got at least three to four more years to offer a club and would love to be able to plead his case in a face-to-face meeting .

Really we need to do this , a handy midfielder who gives 100 % knows Drew Petrie , Brady Rawlings ....be prepared !!

No delistings and McInnes set to re-sign.
Masten, wellingham etc still on the list.

Looks like we are getting achee in a move akin to getting Cripps? Wouldn't be surprised if we gave pick 13 for him.

Just top ups.
No radical moves to revive our list or failing midfield.

Hi all. I sit back each year and see everyone’s views/opinions.

For what it’s worth, happy enough to get Ah Chee, even at the peril of a third rounder. Figure we could get that back should we really have our eye on someone.

Other than that. Should that be all we do this year.... I sure as hell hope we have something major in the planning/pipeline for next year!!!

I trust the club and am happy enough for freo to get what I would consider average to decent players at best!!

Out of what’s left this year, other than a late curve ball... let’s resign our big 3 coming out of contract (McGovern, Yeo, Gaff) for a “reduced team first rate” (less than they can get elsewhere).

From there..... develop the younger kids, see what we really have coming through (some will cut it, some won’t), and let’s go hard, and I mean hard, at a big name (or two) next off season!!!!

If Port can get them.... we sure as hell can!!!!

New facilties.... new stadium... one of the biggest clubs in Australia (not just afl)!!! We are the WEST COAST EAGLES!!! Let’s do it!!!

What do you think we've got to use to upgrade picks though? I don't see a lot, no one seems interested in the players we want to get rid of. Is Lycett expendable? Would we consider using someone like Partington? There's just not much on our list that we can even use to upgrade our picks imo.

If we can find someone dumb and desperate enough to take players like Masten and maybe Lamb, swap them with a pick for a pick upgrade possibly. I agree things look a little bleak, but I'd rather hold my criticism until after the trade/draft period is over.

Butler was up against a midfield of Judd, Cousins, Kerr, Fletcher, Brawn and Embely and still got 24 touches the 06 grannie what ****in more do you want.

I agree, but I think the amount of retirements have put us in a bit of a shit spot tbh. I don't think a huge lack of activity in the trade period is too bad, as long as we go deep in the draft.
