Straight swap for Pick 8 would get it done.

Defenders are undervalued at the trade table based on history. Adelaide and their fans would feel hard done by in just getting a top 10 pick but i can't see them forcing Lever into the draft over it. The money side of things too hard to say as you never get an accurate figure, just speculation. I'm assuming he would be getting offered something around 750-800k, especially from a club like the bulldogs that already have a few players on big dollars.Name the last time a 21 year old key defender who was already considered one of the best in the league, requested a trade??
Can't compare situations that haven't occurred before. Apparently he's being offered close to $1mil a season. If his financial value is that high, surely his trade value should match that.
Jake Carlisle (minor picks when back the other way through a now closed loophole). He was older , less talented, a flog and had sanctions hanging over his head. Please provide examples where an out of contract key backman has commanded more than a top 10 draft pick?

No, try and imagine Hipwood leaving, because I would take him in a heart beat for a mid first and second round pick. Pretty sure Brisbane wouldnt acceot that tho.I think a top 10 pick for Lever is getting close to the mark... maybe a if it was a late top 10 pick, then add a 2nd rd pick.
So say pick 8 and a mid 20s pick and that seems close fair to me.
Trying to imagine Harris Andrews leaving... I'd probably be asking for a top 5 pick. So I'd say Lever is worth around that mark too.
He is being offered 850-900 per year for contract up to 7 years.Defenders are undervalued at the trade table based on history. Carlisle trade ins and outs for saints was pick 5 and pick 24 for Carlisle and pick 14. So they paid less than pick 5 as there pick 24 was upgraded to pick 14. Therefore not more than a top 10 pick.Jake Carlisle (minor picks when back the other way through a now closed loophole). He was older , less talented, a flog and had sanctions hanging over his head.
Technically valued at pick 9 by AFL draft pick calculator.Carlisle trade ins and outs for saints was pick 5 and pick 24 for Carlisle and pick 14. So they paid less than pick 5 as there pick 24 was upgraded to pick 14. Therefore not more than a top 10 pick.

Based on current ladder positions and rumours about the Dogs being into Lever, Carlton into Kelly and obviously Adelaide into Gibbs, hypothetical 3 way trade:
GIBBS > ADEL
LEVER > WB
KELLY > CAR
PICK 8 (WB) > ADEL > CARL > GWS
PICK 25 (WB) > ADEL
PICK 52 (ADEL) > WB
PICK 3 (CARL) > GWS
PICK 21 (GWS via COLL) > CARL
Summary:
CARLTON
IN: Kelly, Pick 21
OUT: Gibbs, Pick 3
GWS:
IN: Pick 3, Pick 8
OUT: Kelly, Pick 21
ADELAIDE:
IN: Gibbs, Pick 25
OUT: Lever, Pick 52
WB:
IN: Lever, Pick 52
OUT: Pick 8, Pick 25
Not rating Andrews huh... i would have him on par if not better than Lever. No, try and imagine Hipwood leaving, because I would take him in a heart beat for a mid first and second round pick. Pretty sure Brisbane wouldnt acceot that tho.
No, Lever is Hipwood quality. What can we have him for? Pick 8?Not rating Andrews huh... i would have him on par if not better than Lever.
If Andrews left i would want a top 5 pick which is what I think Lever would be worth. Say pick 8 and 25 was offered, i think that is close to the mark. Certainly wouldn't be happy with that, but it is close.
I suppose it depends on the draft depth.
Its not me you have to convince. Im pretty sure after getting smashed by supporters over being to soft at the trade table the Crows are gonna go hard on this one.Apart from Cleric I think we can all agree that our first round pick is enough for Lever.
Pick 3 for uncontracted Lever straight swap.
Although wouldnt adelaide prefer an established player instead as they are in premiership window
You are comparing a back with a forward. Forwards get paid more, they get traded for more that's just the way it is.No, Lever is Hipwood quality. What can we have him for? Pick 8?
Comparing one of the best young backs around, said by many to be the next Rance to one of the best young forwards going around. And top quality KPDs do high in the draft, such as Weitering at pick 1, and Lever is as good as him.You are comparing a back with a forward. Forwards get paid more, they get traded for more that's just the way it is.
Pick 3 or pick 8 & 2nd round are not far off the mark. He is uncontracted so you can't dig in too much.
But don't worry too much, there's plenty of talk around that he's staying.
McGovern is another story though
our highest paid player is our CHB (I'm pretty sure). You are comparing a back with a forward. Forwards get paid more, they get traded for more that's just the way it is.

i think one would do us.As an Essendon supporter, would love for a couple of trades to eventuate.
----------
Trade 1
----------
Western Bulldogs gain; Essendon 3rd Round Pick (currently - pick 44)
Essendon gain; Lukas Webb (21 y.o, 187cm, 85kg, Inside leaning Midfielder)
---------
Trade 2
---------
Fremantle gain; Essendon 4th Round Pick (currently 62)
Essendon gain; Harley Balic (20 y.o, 187cm, 82kg, Inside leaning Midfielder)
Would leave us light on with picks (currently picks 9, 26, 81, 99)
at some point, the Saints owe the Swans something for that.Carlisle trade ins and outs for saints was pick 5 and pick 24 for Carlisle and pick 14. So they paid less than pick 5 as there pick 24 was upgraded to pick 14. Therefore not more than a top 10 pick.
might be right there.Didn't they get to use the picks to buy their #3 draft pick?
