2 wins in 2. Getting wins even if they aren't the most important is good, builds confidence around the team.

Martin will be fine, tight hammy and they just wrapped him in cotton wool.
Hanley shoulder went back in pretty easily, so hopefully he will be ok.
Lynch report, could go either way, but I reckon with Robinson going on playing he should be ok.

Fiorini with massive tackle numbers, good to see.

The Hanley injury looked so innocuous
Just a slide but he obviously fell awkwardly
His time with us hasn't been the happiest poor sod
I've always wanted him up and about for his pace more than anything

I wonder what Dew thinks about putting Micky B Matty Rosa and Riska in the same team?
Sounds slow
Won't happen - judging on Rischa's stats' and the NEAFL scratch match this morning. 2 out of 3 at best.

You kind of wait for a pause in Fiorini's development because in a way that's what we've been used to at the Club since day 1 - young players with potential plateauing at a level or 2 below where you thought they should get to
He seems to just be getting better and better and flying well and truly under the radar of the general footy public

jeez, super impressed with holman! looks like a brilliant pick up, keen to see how he goes this year. weller looked good too, couple plays of his late in the game were very slick.

was at the game, pretty dreary conditions. at times it reminded me of the swans game a few years back haha.

Thought Rory looked much better today too. Like the Rory of old. He just needs miles in the legs.

I wasn't as impressed with Holman. He got the ball okay but he butchers it so badly by foot. Given he plays in a position where he must deliver inside 50 well that could be a problem.

A couple of Brodie’s handball’s out of congestion were supreme. Good to see him, Bowes and Ainsworth improving their disposal counts.
Agree. All of the young kids looked a step up from last year. Brodie's inside work was awesome.

Yeah think Holman plays rd.1 now , does the rules allow him ? Hanley may be out for extended period , will have to wait on scans to see how much damage that pop of the elbow did , thought live we where outplayed for good chunks of the day but still managed to win which is a great sign , umpiring shizen , how many frees given to the Lions ?

And that would be stretching it IMO given Handley's gone
Can't be found out for pace in 2018 no matter what an old head may bring
Barlow comes in for sure. He may be slow but he adds some steel and a bigger/hardened body to help protect the young kids. He was very good for us before he went down. Good offensively, good defensively and kicked goals from the midfield.

I thought that most of them for the Lions were there. We were undisciplined for the second half I thought. Lots of sloppy tackles and gave away a lot of frees.

We got lucky with the win, but will take any win we can get.

Maybe Barlow in; play Jack Martin and Weller off halfback for Hanley, swapping through the midfield?

I'd leave Jack Martin in the mids. I thought we missed him quite noticeably after he went off and he has spent all pre-season there. Maybe Lach can shift down back.

I'm not sure. All I know is I'd get Barlow back in ASAP. When an oppo player starts to get on a role (like Zorko), we don't have a guy on the field at the moment that can reliably shut him down. Barlow can do that and get them going the other way.

Weller is not a HB , prefer Bowes than him.

Definitely prefer to leave Jack in the midfield. We need his run and class on the outside. His vision and disposal are bordering on elite. After he went off we seemed to be less dangerous moving the ball forward though that may have been coincidence. Hard to tell in such boggy conditions.
