After reviewing videos of Walsh, he plays a lot of Bryce Gibbs. He won't win you a game but will consistently get 20 possessions and has no pace. Will probably become B grade like Bryce Gibbs.

I think we need to take Lukosius would has everything to become A grade.
But...but...but...

I have concluded we need to draft Walsh because there is no risk he will be rubbish. Lukisous could turn out to be another Jack Watts.

Team for next year:

B: Plowman---------------Marchbank---------------Bryne

H: Docherty---------------Weitering---------------Simpson

C: Thomas-----------------Cripps------------------O'Brien

H: Lang-------------------C.Curnow----------------SPS

F: Garlett------------------McKay-------------------Pickett

Foll: Kreuzer, Dow, Murphy

Bench: Williamson, Kennedy, Walsh, Fisher

With Fasolo apparently locked in then with Charlie & McKays development is there really any value keeping Levi on the list to play VFL or purely for injury cover, is he worth anything in a trade?

He's got a lot of time. Has that rare poise in the contest that allows him to not just get off a disposal, but think his way through in a split second and make the optimal decision.

Couple that with that burst first step and his ridiculous lateral ability, far out he's an exciting prospect.

Can't help but thinking with Cripps Dow and SPS, we'll have an elite midfield in 2 years time.

Agree friom the few videos i have watched of Walsh he reminds me of a Trent Cotchin type more so than Gibbs, especially that quick first step and excellent decision making in tight. If he turned out as good as Cotchin we would be well on our way to having a premiership list in 2022

Levi’s time must be up you would think. As you mention Charlie and Harry as our starting KPFs, depth to play 2 ruckman and one stays forward if one of the princes go down.
Kerr, TDK bsos and whoever else we potentially draft waiting in the 2s. No spot left for levi

Has a contract and a handy back up for a year. Can play Ruck as well. What I'm looking forward to seeing is a fit list and if it is names like Casboult Rowe Wright will be in the 2's and that means we are doing well.

Exactly, might play a decent role in our VFL team and we know from all the other teams making improvement up the ladder having a strong VFL team goes hand in hand with having a good AFL team.

May for a 2nd and jones?
And how are we getting kelly next year with no 2019 1st?

I wrote a poem for you all ...

Get more mids.
Get more mids.
You all shit me to tears.
Get more mids.

That's beautiful, although thought you would have gone with something more like this.

Yes, I would like mids in the draft
And I would like mids fore and aft.
I would like mids who can run and run,
And even more mids, just for fun.
I would like mids inside and out,
I would like more mids, ffs don't make me shout!
Yes I would like to get mids in trade,
SOS don't you dare rain on my parade.

Yes, I do so like more mids and mids, I do so like them, I am Bix.

Gaff wont be coming to Carlton, we are just too far away from success for us to be an option.
I just dont see GWS who are in a premiership window releasing a contracted player that will weaken their team, even if they got a 1st round pick in return when they are on the cusp of winning a flag and Shiel would play a pivotal role in this, why would they release him. If we were in the same situation i would be filthy if we risked a chance to get a flag even if it meant letting him walk for free the following year.

What does the recruitment of Fasolo have to do with Casboult?

There are no similarities between the two other than they are both forwards.

The only reason they would consider it, would be that the compensation is considerably different than free agency and they knew that Shiel was leaving anyway

Its an additional forward, also Fasolo has never played as a traditional small forward is more of a lead up forward that is undersized. Throw in Charlie, Harry, JSOS, Kerr & potential Lukosious its just too many pure forwards on the list.

Agree with you about Charlie and Harry. But Schache is not struggling anymore. Starting to look pretty good now for a very young kpf. Doesn't have the ceiling of our guys though.

I worry about Harry hitting the ceiling....I mean at 6'8", it's very easy to do.....

*or so I hear

His contract is going to guarantee him band 1 compo, so let say they finish top 4 next year its a pick in 14-18... No team is going to give up considerably more than that when they can get him for free the next year.

I did say they are both predominantly forwards. Apart from that there is no comparison between the two.

Fasolo is not in direct competition with any of those you have named who all have 10+ cm on him.

He is mainly a smaller lead up forward who also has some flexibility to his game and can create off half back. We played Nick Graham in that role on the weekend.

Can you see a fwd line of Charlie Harry Kerr and Fasolo a possibility ?

The advantage for us in picking him up this year is that it takes him away from better credentialed opponents who will bid for him. The advantage for GWS is they get a better pick than the compo and it helps alleviate their alleged salary cap issues.

Ultimately I cant see it happening this year either but IMO its plausible.

My current thoughts are that Gold Coast get pick 3 as compensation and a priority pick and we get a priority pick. Meaning...
- We will have picks 1, 20, 25 and 27 and the Gold Coast have 2,3, 21 etc.
- I would trade pick 1 and next year's first for picks 2 and 3 from the Gold Coast. They do this to land Lukoscious and we still get Walsh at 2.
- We now have 2,3,20,25,27
- Trade picks 3 and 27 for 8 and 16 from Adelaide. Why do they do this? To land the second best SA prospect in Rankine. We now have 2,8, 16, 20, 25 and 27.
- We trade pick 8 for Shiel (no use sitting on our hands hoping he comes here with other clubs circling hard)
- Trade pick 20 for Lloyd
- Take 2, 16, 25 and 27 to the draft.
- Draft Walsh, O'Halloran, Williams and Poldjaski.
- Sign Fasolo and (hopefully) Dalhaus

2019 Starting 22

B - Williamson Marchbank Plowman
HB- Docherty Weitering Simpson
C- Lloyd Cripps Fisher
HF- SPS C Curnow Dalhaus
F- Fasolo McKay Murphy
Fol- Kreuzer Dow . Shiel
INT- Walsh, Kennedy, E Curnow, Pickett

two 2nds? do you know freo gave up one second rounder and a late round pick swap?

Id take wilson every day of the week over dahlhaus and three times on Sunday.

3rd rounder for Dahl at most imo
GWS still had to clear cap space, their trades can't be compared in price due to circumstance IMO.

They play different roles and midfield/forward is a harder position to find at AFL level than loose defender.

It just depends but 2 second rounders for 100 games doesn't sound bad to me.

I'd love to trade with you then. Very generous. Dalhaus at his peak perhaps, now you have to factor the risk of non-performance.

I've said this before, but look at how Richmond built their list. Sure they have a handful of stars, but it's their B+ grade players, that fleet of of high-pressure players. They had hit-after-hit in the 2nd round. 2nd round picks are valuable. At least 1 of the 2 picks you're suggesting could turn out better than Dahlhaus. And you get 2 shots at it.
