Thanks for your detailed contribution. You would have to quite honestly be a biased, one eyed supporter if you didn't look at how dynamic and damaging he is and how much upside he still has....like this kid will be an absolute star of the competition and at this stages looks like he will emerge as the best player in the draft pool in much the same way as Curnow is in his draft year

If Shiel for whatever reason wants to come home NOW , do you think Silvagni or any other list manager is going to say to him , nah , hang on for another 12 months can ya mate so we can steal ya for nothin ...
If he does GWS have the upper hand as he's contracted..Why would GWS trade Shiel? If they are serious about winning a flag they must do everything they can to keep Shiel and Kelly. Surely they would back them selves to re-sign Shiel next year. If i'm GWS there is no way i'm trading Shiel for pick 1. They have a proven star in his prime. Pick 1 who ever it will be will take 3-4 years to develop to get anywhere near Shiel's level and if they have a premiership window open it's right now.
I can't see any club chasing Shiel this year because it will be a waste of time. Unless Shiel comes out and says he want a trade back to Victoria but i don't think he's that kind of person.
Spot on, we would all like him for free next year but if he really wants us this year you can't say go and ring the Saints or Bombers.Shiel is class that adds to and assists the entire midfield unit.
He and Dow can play inside and out and with Kennedy also adding grunt the combined effect would see Cripps' workload at the coalface lessened allowing him more time forward where his improved marking and conversion again add to the entire picture.
I know you're desperate to take Shiel the following year as a FA and in a perfect world so would Silvagni.
When you're the 18th placed team in this highly competitive market and a genuine A grader says im ready , the list manager doesn't hesitate ...
he was mostly pretty clean today murphy - bit rusty but who wouldn't be

Who does TDK play like ?

I do know SOS highly treasures top 10 draft picks and will do whatever he can to secure them.
It would have to be a stupendous offer to get him to part with a top 3 pick in a "super draft".
He is also a Scrooge who refuses to overpay for anything.
No way in the world will he give up top 3 pick for a player he can get for free 12 months later.
Maybe a bargain deal could be struck if GWS know Sheil is out 12 months later and they need the money now to keep Kelly et al contracted.
SOS is playing the "long game" - be patient.
Stephenson is going to be a star no doubt but I’m not envious that we or other teams did not select him because we have a beauty in Dow which is what the club needed. Thanks for your detailed contribution. Essendon fans: "I couldn't care we drafted Darcy Parish instead of Charlie Curnow... Ok so what your saying is right now you’d prefer Stephenson.Young kid in a very good side playing exceptionally well.If he played for us different story. What I’m saying is judge draftees after a couple of years. What have Rayner and LDU done?Essendon fans: "I couldn't care we drafted Darcy Parish instead of Charlie Curnow... On any given day:
1. Cripps
2. Dow
On certain days
3. Samo
4. Kennedy
5. Fisher
Arguably Parish had a better first season than Dow is presently having and their list was depleted with suspensionsPls don't compare Dow to Parish, lol.
Doesn't reflect well on the poster.
My point is that Stephenson looks like the pick of the lot. He is just an X Factor match winnerOk so what your saying is right now you’d prefer Stephenson.Young kid in a very good side playing exceptionally well.If he played for us different story. What I’m saying is judge draftees after a couple of years. What have Rayner and LDU done?

Really? No Murphy? No Ed Curnow?
Melbourne would not trade Oliver, and if it was to, it would not settle for just the Pick 1. Perhaps our first picks this year and next.I would rather him for free
I'm not saying Parish is a better footballer long term I'm saying that Parish had a better first year.Parish doesn't believe in defence and as an undersized midfielder isn't damaging at all by foot.
Heavily flawed prospect.
Dow loves playing defence and can break lines and will split packs.
Game styles bruh.
If we had of took him over Dow the masses would have lost their mind as he isn't a genuine midfielderMy point is that Stephenson looks like the pick of the lot. He is just an X Factor match winner
Yet....It's OK... I just have a different opinion. I think long term Stephenson will be the best of the lot. He is just an absolute jet. ..looks like a natural footballerIf we had of took him over Dow the masses would have lost their mind as he isn't a genuine midfielder
