NFL 2018 NFL - Week 2

Gees a few penalties today for full body..ish...thingy on QB. I actually like the new rule.

I dont mind it either for tackles like Barr's, i understand that you want to keep the most important players on the field for each team so no problem from me in that regard. So long as they keep the flags in their pockets for crap like we saw in the preseason with that sack on Bortles vs the Vikings I'm fine.

Didn't see any massively soft roughing the passer calls today in the vision i saw, hopefully thats a sign that the NFL has backed off slightly from the ridiculousness of some of the preseason calls.

I dont reckon i saw a leading with the helmet plenty either, which was nice, either the players have clued in pretty quickly or zebra's are taking it a touch easy on them to begin the year.

There were two I saw. Pat's db on wr, and shawn William's on Luck. William's got ejected but Pat's shouldve too.

Will be interested to see the total numbers if you come across them after the remainder of week 1 action. :thumbsu:

and KC get another chance to knock off Pitt.

Don’t mind watching the Chiefs, Hill and Hunt and now Mahomes with that cannon arm. Terrific game today and sure he’ll make a few mistakes along the way, but gees it’s going to be a roller coaster.

Hill was like a circus act in the first quarter, even taking a great one handed catch.

Rivers was good to but gees his receivers let him down. Williams dropped one in the EZ as did Benjamin who also dropped a huge gain earlier.

Not to mention Chargers special teams going full Chargers special teams when he had actually clawed them back into the game with half a chance.

No team can beat themselves better.

Cost the Browns the game, gave Pittsburgh their first TD

Myles Garrett hit Big Ben and it was called, thought it was touch and go.

Perhaps the ball left Ben's hands a few micro seconds later than with Barr's tackle on Rodgers. Honestly not that much difference in the plays though...Would be hard for a ref in real time to notice the difference. Its the exact driving of the QB into the ground action that they are looking for.

Garrett definitely had momentum up but had time there to pull out and just push or bump Ben, no need to tackle to the ground

New NFL head coaches went 0-7 in Week One

Seven NFL teams hired new head coaches in the offseason with hopes of improving their spot in the standings.

All of them are in last place after one week of football, however. When the final seconds of the Rams’ 33-13 win over the Raiders ran out, it was certain that all seven new head coaches would begin their tenures with an 0-1 record.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden joined Lions coach Matt Patricia on the wrong side of lopsided Monday night losses. Colts coach Frank Reich, Giants coach Pat Shurmur, Titans coach Matt Vrabel, Cardinals coach Steve Wilks and Bears coach Matt Nagy oversaw losses on Sunday afternoon.

None of the new head coaches are facing each other in Week Two, so the whole group could wind up as losers again in their second time on the field.

:(

Falcons placed MLB Deion Jones on injured reserve with a foot injury.

Jones — who played 68-of-72 snaps in Week 1 — went from feeling soreness to requiring surgery. Coach Dan Quinn did leave open the possibility that Jones can return in 2018. He has to miss a minimum of eight weeks. Coupled with Keanu Neal's (ACL) loss for the season, the Falcons' missed-opportunity loss in Philadelphia ended up being extraordinarily costly. It's a cliff behind every-down playmaker Jones on the depth chart. Second-year third-rounder Duke Riley is probably the next man up

Panthers announced Greg Olsen re-fractured his surgically-repaired right foot Week 1 against the Cowboys.

"There are no plans for surgery at this time," the team said in a statement. "We will monitor his rehab and evaluate his progress on a monthly basis." Not needing surgery is a positive sign, but it still seems likely Olsen ends up on injured reserve. Rookie Ian Thomas should start at tight end while Olsen is sidelined.

The Charlotte Observer reports the Panthers will hold off on placing Greg Olsen (broken foot) on injured reserve.

It means the Panthers think Olsen could return some time in the next two months. If placed on I.R., that's how long Olsen would have to sit before being a candidate for return. It's probably an overly optimistic timeline but speaks to how badly the Panthers want Olsen back this season.

Patriots signed Corey Coleman.

The 15th overall pick in 2016, Coleman was unceremoniously traded by the Browns for a seventh-round pick before being unceremoniously waived by the Bills at final cuts. He always had the talent to get another shot, however, and the Patriots are a great place for him to attempt a reclamation -- 2015 first-rounder Phillip Dorsett has turned his career around in New England. It is unlikely he returns any redraft value this season even with the Patriots thin at receiver, but this move is a bump to Coleman's shaky Dynasty value.

Raiders re-signed Martavis Bryant to a one-year contract.

Tom Pelissero was first to report the Raiders closing in on a new deal for Bryant. It's an unexpected chain of events as Bryant is still facing a possible year-long suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Derek Carr did complete only five passes to receivers (out of 42 drop backs) in the Raiders' Week 1 loss to the Rams, so it's possible coach Jon Gruden wanted to add speed to the field by any means necessary. Bryant, who was cut by the Raiders only 10 days go, is expected to suit up and play Sunday.

What? lol, Gruden is all over the place... This is becoming a shambles quickly.
