A marking medium forward in the Jeremy Howe mold is interchangeable with a gut running outside, line breaking wingman?

You say same strange shit sometimes

Motlop?

Gut-running?

Now, if you'd said gut-filling, I'd have believed you

He over rates Motlop.

To be fair he did play well in his last game for Geelong. The Final where Pyke left him unchecked and let him rack up possies which he did no damage.

Be has spent most of his career as a forward. His output is interchangeable with Crameri. Both guys do some flashy things but overall are sub mediocre.

In what bizarro-world is Crameri in the Jeremy Howe mold, or Motlop a gut running wingman?

It was Sanders opinion originally
therefore you have to be in the Buckethead army

the real Buckethead army, not the stupid BBL one

It’s the same philosophy with their player recruitment.

Bring in half a dozen spuds and collectively it’s the same as recruiting one big star.
Yeah Rockliff is no Menzel, Seedsman, Gore or Gibson.

you say that, but you’ll recall the champion data stats from the trade period showing that last year he was up there with Tom Scully for the most ground covered every game

Virtually no one runs further and for longer than him.

Where are those stats from?

The top 5 for average ground covered in 2017 were Scully, Gaff, Whitfield, Sidebottom and I.Smith.

Given Tom Scully averaged almost 1.5kms a game more than I.Smith in fifth place, Motlop is hardly "up there" with Scully.

I think the key was from champion data :)

An HS article was posted on here during trade period when we looked like getting him; it was then discussed

If used properly Rocky will be your best mid.

His seasons when Stefan Martin were in good form have been superb as an inside clearance player. He should be able to replicate that with Ryder. Not too mention more help with your other mids that he didn't have at the Lions.

I was disappointed we couldn't get him last year, end if 2016. But then Matt Crouch has shown he is among the league's best in the role with Thommo out if the team.

I guess Port used this Champion Data "gut running" stat to set his salary given they are paying him enough for Geelong to get that end of first round compo pick...

He ain't much good at anything else. Unkess the opposition coach leave him alone to run around and get cheap useless ball whilst clamping down on other more damaging players.

why hasn't Ollie signed yet?

it starting to get weird, we're signing our players left right and centre... what's the hold up?

My stats were Champion Data quoted in the Herald Sun too:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...d/news-story/74a8c996525dc5b45cb04258c9ac680c

Distance covered in a game:
Tom Scully (GWS) 16.62km
Andrew Gaff (WC) 15.95km
Lachie Whitfield (GWS) 15.60km
Steele Sidebottom (Coll) 15.18km
Isaac Smith (Haw) 15.13km

Although in saying that Motlop was 5th last year for sprints per game according to the same article. But to put that stat into context, an ordinary player like Jeff Garlett averaged more than him.

Don't get me wrong - I like Motlop as a player and would have taken him if available as a replacement (and upgrade) on Cameron but he's not on the same level as the above full-time midfielders who are much more consistent midfielders.
