More head in the sand stuff from the Port flogs. West coast supporter who witnessed the racial abuse gave an account of what happened on their board and gets called a dickhead etc. The best part is - despite the fact that numerous people said they were Port supporters, that they were barracking for Port throughout the game AND even started a chant - there were still posters saying "nah can't see much Port gear in the video"

Trying to convince themselves they were West Australians - even though the Port supporters group leader knew them by name.

Nothing on 5aa about this funny enough.

IMO these MRP decisions are about protecting the AFL

Regardless if the contact is accidental or deliberate they (AFL) in the majority of cases will give a penalty if the player leaves the ground concussed

Just want to say that 5 men in Perth barracking for Port is actually very flimsy circumstantial evidence that they are Port supporters! Any time I have ever gone to a match featuring the Adelaide Crows, I have barracked and cheered for the opposition club louder that their own supporters!

Four Freo supporters who hate the Eagles could very well have gone to the match with one of their mates who is a local Perth Port supporter wearing his Port gear, and barracked loudly and offensively against the West Coast! In fact, I would hazard a guess that this is what will eventually be revealed.

When you get to the over 40’s you stop listening to triple j and start listening to ABC radio.. well that’s what I’ve found... anyway every weekday on abc radio they have a program at 11am called “conversations with Richard Fidler” where Richard basically interviews people about their lives and it’s really interesting hearing some of the amazing stories of famous and non famous people..

Anyway.. Today’s episode had Richard Fidler chatting to Peter Bell of both North Melbourne and Freo fame.. and it was a really great insight into the life of Peter Bell and had a good section of it that discussed Pagan drafting him to North Melbourne..

Anyway, if your a footy tragic like me and you enjoy a really good yarn you can listen to it here as a podcast...

goes for nearly an hour and I guarantee you’ll enjoy hearing the story of Peter Bell even though he wasn’t a crow!..

it’s a pretty bloody amazing story about a young Korean baby that was adopted by an Aussie couple and become an AFL great... a two time premiership player and a hall of famer.. he nearly didn’t make it and the way his birth mother found him years after giving him up for adoption is amazing.

Trust me... Give it a listen.

I thought it was because I was getting old.... maybe it was because I worked out in central qld in the gas industry for a few years and the only station I got out there miles from anything was ABC rural...

Now I’m back I’ve found I can’t go without ABC radio and barely ever listen to triple J!... hahaha, Myf Warhurst has even moved over from JJJ for her own slot on abc radio..

Anyway... each to their own!... have a listen to the podcast.. it’s a really great story.
