2018 Rate My Team (Post JLT)

I'm a little worried.
I haven't changed my team since SC team pickers came out besides replacing guys like Zac, Nic and Bennel.

I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or not...

I'm in the same boat and actually wondered the same thing. Time will tell I guess.
I'm sticking with my intial team which I wrote down at 2017 seasons end (Rookies obviously excluded). The team has and will most likely have a few necessary changes leading up to round 1.
They say back your gut so that's what I'm doing here. The more I **** with my team the more I think every player was a gut decision come round 1.

Nice team. There are a couple of things I dont get - the love for McGrath and picking Menegola.

McGrath is a 2nd year player who is apparently going to move into the midfield (like we havent heard that one before) and has Zerrett, BJ, Zaharakis, Smith, Stringer, Parish to contend with - I can't see him getting the minutes he needs to get the scores people want.

Menegola is most likely to be the one who will be affected by Ablett coming back into the team - I can still see a 90 ave for him, but there isn't any point starting him if guys like Barlow/Smith/Walters/Billings/Lobb will average about the same but save you an extra 100-200k. Plus Menegola is most likely to drop in price, so why not get him after his bye if he is averaging 90+ and is 100k cheaper?

It’s as good a side as any posted .... Rookies mean nothing ATS

The only question this year is do you bat deep in the midfield to the detriment of your F4 & D4 positions ?

This is a personal choice as to where you see the greater depth of higher scoring Rookies ...... personally, I’m seeing more depth in the Midfield & Forward Rookies

I reckon hes flying under the radar. Had a really good 2nd half of the 2017 after a massive spell in the 2nds... came back a different player.
A lot of attention was put on against roberton late last year so i guess savage was the solid choice to get it out of the back half.
Articles are saying that he’s shed 5kg’s this preseason so he’s fit and firing for 2018.

1st iteration
Not overly comfortable with 4 EFC players as forwards, but i like the scoring potential of Parish, Stringer and Smith.
Happy with the backline
Toyed with Ablett and Mitchell (plus Graham) in the middle in place of Rocky, Bont, LDU and Fogarty. May switch back to that as i really want Graham in
Longer is a gamble. but he finished 2017 strongly.
Stephenson is a reserve spot to see how his JLT form is.

Danger and Mitchell are in for Hanneberry & Rockliff, Longer is upgraded to Grundy, Witheden downgrades to O'Shea, Stringer and Parish to Walters and McLean (Much of a muchness to me, but less EFC players).
