2018 Rate My Team (Post JLT)

This is my team so far. After a few years off, it is proving a hard task. I think there is some good value with mid price this year and many upgrades.

Current setup. Choosing a ruck after gawn is hard. I'm just going with ryder, hes pretty safe except the bye is shit. I'll worry about it when it happens I guess. I dont want lycett at all. The only other option id consider is martin atm. Everyone else is pretty much locked. Ive left about 120k in the bank for danger but I'm not sure how Id get him or who would go.

As much as I'd like to fit another keeper in, I just don't think it will work

Think a couple of the high price rookies are essential for long term scoring and money making potential

15 keepers and 15 rookies is the way to go I reckon, any more than that means you're taking too many mid-pricers and/or you're only taking cheap rookies

I don’t like treloar too much, I wanted Parker but I have lloyd and Heeney, maybe would bring in Buddy down the road and that’s too much change. Anyone else people rate around the 550k ish and a potential PoD?

I feel if you consider the players to be premo then so be it. I like Brayshaw and Banfield, however, I'm not going with two rookies from the same team, soley due to lack of loopholing prospects.

I don't get the loop need for the starting team.
Cash generation from the start is the biggest and most important thing for any coach giving it a go.
you want the best rookies!...no matter who they play for.

Get rid of lloyd and add another forward. The def rookies are strong but the forward ones are terrible. You could just swap sicily forward

Currently. Sicily will get switched to DEF once I start upgrading rookies. The lack of FWD rookies with good JS has made me load up on rookies in DEF.

Totally agree - to some point. Taking mids only into account. Kelly and Holman locks. Most likely one of Brayshaw, LDU, Dow. 5-6 premos. Leaves one spot. Would rather risk a Barry, Finlayson type then have anothe GC, Freo or Cats rookie. (I have Brayshaw)

That's how I see it. Still getting the cash generation and more options for the loophole. Just my 2 cents. I cant do as bad as I did last year.

Thoughts will be greatly appreciated as i'm in the final stages of consolidating a team

Skip Goldy.
The pruess issue could pop up any week.
Not just r1.
Pruess is easily in our best 22 players.
He just doesn't fit in our team each week.
If that makes any sense.
He will be in and out.
I would guess 10-15 games this year.
Assuming Goldy plays well.

Not bad but I reckon bundy will be good for $$ and Hurley a top 5 defender hopefully. I was thinking Nic Nat too kreuzer with the remaining $$. Just straight swapped bundy to petracca then

Dangerless team.



DEF: much the same. Brought Savage in as I think he may step up without Montagna in team. I think DEF rookies are gold this year.
MID: no danger. Downgraded him to Brodie (yuck) to bring in more muscle in FWD line. Top 4 confident can all average 110+. Conigs is undervalued and rookies seem solid.
RUCK: risking Ryders bye; think he will challenge Gawn for #1 ruck mantle this year.
FWD: rookies are horrible in this line. JS aside, I think most will score poorly. Have loaded up here with option to swing Sicily back after upgrades.
