I've been on Goldy since SC opened and I'm just starting to waver on him, for the reason you gave, plus the Preuss factor.

I might get off him and go for a cheap R2 (I suppose it's Lycett). Then, as a North supporter, I'll still be happy if Goldy scores so well that I regret dumping him from my team.


But also be secretly annoyed about it.

For me... If Pruess didn't exist Goldy would be locked alongside Gawn. But he does exist so there are about three or four rucks I think offer slightly less upside but with much much less downside. For example: Ryder, Nank, Martin

Ryder started a little slowly SC-wise last year in JLT too, but watching him you could see he was doing a lot right. Glad so many jumped ship then too

This is what shits me about fwds at the moment. The bloke kicked maybe a goal a game last yr, spending a fair chunk fwd as well as in the ruck. Surely that shows on heat maps or whateva the fk they go off.
What does it take to get DPP status these days ? Who the hell makes these decisions ? There are others as well.
Why was the Nankasaurus DPP last yr ?

Champion Data make the calls. And yes it goes off heatmaps.
Think is has to be more than 35% time forward to justify DPP

Nank was DPP last year because he must've played forward a bit. 35% of bugger all is still 35%

It also takes into account where they were playing in the state leagues.
Nank kicked 21 goals in 12 games in the NEAFL in '16, was probably spending a considerable amount of time Fwd in the NEALF when he would at times be playing with Naismith and/or Sinclair also in the team, because Tippett wasn't a total garbage truck at the time.
