Not in my top 50 and there are other players who I'd consider more unlucky.

I don't mind Khamis as a medium sized defender. Would like to see more offensively, and I don't think his game has progressed much as the season has gone on. Would probably have him in the next 10 or so. Calling Andrews a standout is a bit of a stretch I'd have thought. Maybe I've only seen his bad games, runs hard with good speed but doesn't seem to do a lot with it for me.
Andrews is another Hartung, runs all day but you close your eyes when he tries to get rid of it

P.S. i wish there was a W.A. poster who could show a bit of W.A. bias so we could get more detailed info from that state

I've tended to follow them more others in past years because of Fremantle.

I think they'll have a sneakily good draft this year. Ian Hill is obviously shaping up as being in that 8-20 range, and everyone knows about him. Jordan Clark is the other first round prospect for mine, very underrated on here. Looks a quality half back, one of the best in the draft. And WAFL form suggests he can win his own ball too and push into the midfield.

And while people seem to talk about Sydney Stack and Jarrod Cameron already, Tyron Smallwood is looking quite nice as another small midfielder/forward. I don't think he's far behind them. A broken jaw earlier in the season meant he started slowly, but he hasn't looked out of place in higher grades at WAFL level. Throw in Luke Foley and Tom Joyce as genuine draft options too.

Otherwise, Dillon O'Reilly is being talked up as the second coming on the Fremantle board. Looks to be in that 40-60 range for me, one of the better tall forwards in the draft. Shapes more as a second or third tall around the 50m mark, so I'm not as sold on him for Fremantle as others are. But a good athlete and versatile, so will get a look in perhaps earlier.

I like Tom Medhat as a national draft chance, with Jason Carter a rookie Academy prospect. Luke English and Damon Greaves are also U18 squad guys likely to be picked up. While mature aged guys Matthew Parker, Marlion Pickett and Cody Leggett look the most likely to me.

I was about to say... Hartung could hit a target. But Andrews is a far better character/human.

Nathan Kreuger (196cm, 88kg from South Adelaide)
One of BigFooty's favourites last year, went undrafted for a few different reasons. Tom Lamb was one comparison I had, and I wonder if a few clubs were thinking along the same lines. But the good news is that Kreuger has genuinely looked like a KPF this year for South Adelaide. He hasn't set the world on fire with 17 goals from 10 games, but his performances are starting to match his potential. He's bulked up this year, but is as athletic as ever. I hope he gets a chance, he could be a very good roaming CHF type in a few years.

Is an absolute certainty to get taken in the National Draft and could even go Top 40. Don't wait until the late mail before the draft to get him on your lists Phantom Drafters.

I certainly have no doubt. Outside of those in the top 10, I'd struggle to find any other tall forward I'd rate ahead of Kreuger. I talk him up a fair bit, so left him off of my big board this time around. We see 19 year olds get drafted all the time playing as an overager in the U18s, he's playing full forward in a league side that made finals.

Good....Then I'll be very happy when Hawthorn scores another gem out of a late third rounder.

I'm also hoping we put in a reasonably early bid for Khamis.

Best part about the draft is how everyone rates players differently. Andrews has quite a couple of elite attributes; Speed and Agility, doesn't mean much to have these attributes if you can't do much with it though.

Endurance also....He's in the Brad Hill camp on all three.....and no one else rated him either.

Oh Yes.....Worpel can't kick it or use it either.....LOL.....The kids been running in the Top 5 players at our club in almost all KPI's in our past 6 weeks.

By the way, Schoenmakers is a beautiful kick & user of the football.....shame he can't get near it.....Andrews doesn't have that problem.

Actually Andrews recorded an 8.5 second agility test. Slightly behind Hudson Garoni.

For every Worpel success story there's a Hartung story. I'm not trying to crap on the kid, he can seriously play, but theres been little to no improvement in his disposal or positioning from the start of the year. Sure you could draft him with a little bit of hope but at almost every pick there's going to be players that offer more. Speed, Agility and Endurance are relatively easy to improve with an AFL club, but relearning how to kick, how to structure up and how to position isn't.
FWIW I think Daly would benefit from another year with the Jets or a year with Port Melbourne to focus on his kicking and contested work

He looks nimbler than that on field :anguished:, maybe he has a role as runner at AFL level

Oh yeah he's not bad, and testing isn't everything, but he's nowhere near elite, certainly not near Brad Hill's 7.9 seconds as we say.

If you're picking a guy on speed and agility and don't care about disposal, I'd pick Tom Berry who is superior in both areas to Andrews. I think Andrews gets drafted, but late.

Anyway Daly Andrews isn't an SA prospect, which is what this thread is for.
Chris I'm a massive fan of Rozzee, his forward work reminds me of Jamie Elliott and to a lesser extent Toby Greene. Do you see him as a permanent forward at AFL level or is he too good to not have run through the guts in your opinion?

I see him spending a few years across half forward, slowly pushing up the ground and winning more possessions. Then eventually becoming part of the midfield rotations. The way the game is going, there aren't really 'permanent' positions anymore. But once he fills out, I think he'll be too good to not have in the midfield mix.

Andrews was mentioned in the context of a reply to Chris's Top 50 sport......Whereupon it was you who then decided to jump all over the suggestion of him being a top 50 prospect, in doing the worst over-compensation job I've witnessed in these parts in quite a while....You couldn't have advertised that chip on your shoulder any louder if you tried.

The more you attempt to try & paint yourself as any kind of an authority in any context, the worse you get at it.

I'm just not trying to hijack a thread, or go off topic too much. Happy to continue this debate over on my draft thread

It was the O/P who first mooted the notion of his preferred Top 50.....That was the context in which the discussion began & was couched.

It was also the most current line of debate.....I should think Chris would be happy to debate his choices with others, otherwise it's rather a pointless exercise, I'd have thought.....After all, the main purpose of these threads is to try & encourage debate & discussion.

Nietschke and Hately probably the 2 best on ground in the win for Centrals in the SANFL reserves semi final. Nietschke 2 goals from 15 disposals and Hately 27 disposals with 1.2

Nietschke isn't doing himself any harm for a late pick up.

Absolute certainty im not sure of. Was an absolute certainty in his draft year I thought. I think he should be and I hope the Crows grab him.
If Kreuger was playing in an U19s comp he would be destroying teams. To be his age, and being the best goal kicker for Souths, is quite a good year.

Woodcock and Rozee have been excellent today for North. Woodcock certainly has the Luke Power's about him that's for sure.
They just got better and better as the game went on.

Good to see Rozee adding quantity to his quality.
