Will Hamill looks good for Adelaide, too bad Adelaide as a club looks ordinary

Rozee is brilliant and does plenty Walsh isn't capable of, but Walsh is brilliant in other aspects and I doubt Rozee is capable of doing everything he is.
Walsh was a perfect fit for Carlton and he still is. He had a phenomenal first season, is as "bankable" as you can get from a 19 year old, and is already a part of our leadership group.
Yes, he may not be the best to come out of this draft. Yes, there may be a few who overtake him. No, that doesn't mean it was a mistake to pick him or that if the draft was redone today we'd look elsewhere.
It was Walsh then and it's certainly still Walsh now IMO.
So far maybe. But McGrath will be a serious good footballer for a long period of time and I very much doubt there are any Essendon fans (or staff members) who regret taking him.
I reckon there would be plenty who if that draft was redone would take him again and I don't blame them.
There's no angst. At my end it is more bemusement that people genuinely think we've (a) made a mistake with that pick or (b) that one year on we'd do things differently.
We haven't and we wouldn't. We are thrilled with Walsh and rightly so, and so too are Port Adelaide with Rozee and rightly so.
Wasn't Caldwell in the elite 8 not Thomas.i wrote this in 2018 prior to the draft
"im going to predict Rozee and Clark will have better AFL careers than the long term elite 8 (King Twins, Lukosius, Rankine, Smith, Thomas, Blakey and Walsh) tag this post in 5 years to see if im right? "
it would be funny if it came true, but those other guys i really like as well...

He is looking like a very good playerIf you picked up a gun player you picked up a gun player and thank your lucky stars you got that. I don’t really care for which gun would have been better to draft arguments.
As long as you drafted well.
no one has mentioned duursma in this thread yet. He wouldnt be far off a AA wing spot 2 rounds in as a kid. Is a phenom.
Lukosius looks terrific.Lukosius is looking pretty deadly off half back for us. He has a bullet like kick and gaining 400m p/g. 15 touches and 5 marks isn't that bad so far and has snuck up for 2 goals.
I'm a big fan of this draft and Bailey Smith will be a superstar of this game. He can do it all and makes it look so easy on the field.
Long awaited debut highly anticipated by all, hopefully good news tomorrowLukosius looks terrific.
You guys are shaping up really well. We haven't even seen potentially your most talented player yet.
Hope Lukosius stays down back long term. I never rated him much as a key forward prospect, but he looks genuinely elite at times in defence. Future All Australian written all over himLukosius is looking pretty deadly off half back for us. Nothing will ever match the 2001 for generational players.
But the 2018 will have the most depth in terms of guns and 200-game players.
Lots of good players torch the footy - Shiel, Danger, Fyfe are just some of the few very good players that butcher the ball sometimes. Walsh still would go in the 1st couple of picks. He is a really good fit at the Blues.Walshs offensive kicking isn’t much better than those two. He can absolutely butcher the ball sometimes.

Those 3 are all dynamic stoppage players, Walsh isn’t in that currently and shiels kicking is much improved from last year. While Fyfe and Dangerfield provide x-factor around the contest and up forward which make up for their average kicking. Walsh is going at 60% disposal efficiency this year for a player who spends a majority of time outside.Lots of good players torch the footy - Shiel, Danger, Fyfe are just some of the few very good players that butcher the ball sometimes. Walsh is smooth moving and can be really clean. Kid is in his 2nd year and too many want to drag him down. He may not end up the best from this draft but he won’t be far off.I’d have all those 3 as far more dynamic athletes than Walsh. Fyfe a KPP sized mid, Dangerfield arguably the most powerful athlete in the comp and Shiel lightning fast with the strength to break away from a stoppage.

I'm looking forward to seeing him playI still have Rankine in my top 3. A more naturally talented player than Rozee.
It was astonishing and also somewhat expected. He could still easily end up being the best kid among a ridiculous group from this draft. How good was Rankines debut, but anyone who watched u18 footy knew he would slot right in at AFL level.
