So for the intrusion....

Quick question, if Young (ridiculously) fell to Blues first pick, are you super keen for him or prefer others?

If keen what would you offer? Is it reasonable to think he could be top 5 on your board?

Cheers

I think we would look elsewhere

I dont think we have a need for general defenders. That said it's strange if Young slips that far.

So what exactly do you propose we do? Egg the joint? Burn it down? Maybe a protest picket line?

Or is your plan to just whine, moan, whinge, and generally bitch about the club on every occasion?

Hey, don't get me wrong! I DON'T agree with everything the club does. I am happy to express it to the club, and was rapt with the last meeting held with them. But there are some good people still at the club doing a good job, and trying to improve the team and club. There are also some supporters here who are happy to still support our club and the people that are paid to run it, whether we love, like, and agree with them, or not!
They were his words regarding the trades for draft picks, that is why I asked that way. If we accept that philosophy to list management and trading should we also be applying it to the general management of the club?

Do you really want a proposal for what to do? Or was it just a way to associate with me some ridiculous actions that I have never even discussed?

If I want to just whine, moan, whinge, and generally bitch about the club on every occasion I will. I don't think I do, despite being disengaged from the club I've been a member of since I was a kid. If you want to just whine, moan, whinge, and generally bitch about my posts that is fine too.

It isn't some supporters or members that are still happy to support the club. It would be most if not all. Those that are sick of seeing the same people at the club making the same mistakes aren't inferior to that are still supporting them (despite not loving/liking/agreeing whatever they do).

On topic:
I really hope we don't trade up as I don't think the premium will be worth it. Surely Fremantle go for Stephens. Kemp at 12 or whatever it is after bids would be a nice start. Serong can't slide that far can he?

Given the choice between Kemp and Stephens, I'd lean toward Kemp based on the limited information I have on him.

My rationale is that he has a very high ceiling and could be that competition level superstar that we haven't had in the midfield beside Robbie. He also would complement Rozee, Houston and Duursma beautifully as long-term guns.

In contrast, between Duursma, Butters, Amon, Mead and possibly Schofield, we are collecting a nice group of predominantly outside ball carriers and distributors. Stephens would still be a great get, but Kemp would give us something we don't currently have.

Bianco at 18 doesn't look bad to me. He doesn't seem to have a lot of admirers around here but we might look at him because of his elite kicking ability. Still, our greater need is getting high quality players forward of midfield, and Bergmann, Williams or Taylor would fulfil that need better.

Bianco doesnt have an elite kick. Its all lies

Kemp or Stephens. Jeez.

I have Kemp one spot higher on my rankings, but i’m leaning towards Stephens

Stephens. Port need what he brings more than what kemp does. Not saying kemp isn’t going to be good, but i think we are absolutely crying for leg speed and that is a priority before another inside/defender

Guess it depends if Wines is going to try jump ship again next year, if so Kemp could be a handy addition to our midfield.

Stephens can hit the scoreboard but is more likely to be an inside/outside mid. Worrell is a tall intercept defender who can go forward. Would rather the best available medium/small specialist forward with our third pick. And that fits with our stated strategy.

Because they don't want Port getting a good player with 16/18.

Bianco is the sort of player you'd pick in the early second round.

There was a rumour a couple of weeks back we were heavily into Bianco. Probably why he keeps getting phantom drafted to Port.

But that would have been before Serong or Stephens became considered options.

“Port Adelaide draft preview” on the advertiser is saying we are seriously considering Partington, most likely as a rookie..

I'd be happy enough with that, Partington is still young and IMO he's good enough to play AFL footy. I'm not sure he lasts until the rookie draft though.
