Perhaps it may play a role, but I would say it’s our ******* injuries. We have no tall interceptors ffs. Missing like 8-10 of our starting lineup.

As in there aren't many on the roster at all, or you have three of them but they're all injured? We have Josh Walker who would be best 22 at several other clubs but is stuck behind Andrews, perhaps you could trade a later pick for him if you have a shortage on the list.

Not the point. It's about a perceived inability to play with pain. There are clearly many reasons why we can't keep players on the ground but I'm not the only one who believes we need to toughen up across the board.

From what I know, Pendles broken finger was minor. They put some bolts in his middle part of his finger. Saw the surgeon yesterday and the wound is healed and they passed him fit to play.
Much speculation about the time limit in the media, people were saying 6 weeks.

But the point is, the two injuries were probably very different, and people's bodies heal differently. I can't judge on Martin since I don't know the details involving that surgery and recovering process.

We don't handle pain well! Compare Pendles with Martin - Pendles operated on last Saturday and named to play this week. Martin operated a couple of weeks ago and still no sign he'll play again this year. We are just not strong enough mentally or physically when compared against the rest.

There's no consequences for a Suns player missing games or moonbooting(yes I've made it a verb) because there's zero pressure from the NEAFL for spots

I see your point, but Devils advocate would say just keeping your kids has seen you crash and burn the last 5 years already.
I'm not sure selling one kids would be that bad to be honest (and my assumption is based on getting a priority pick here as well). So if you take the point of view the PP is a freebie, you are giving up 1 kid, for two established midfielders with plenty of time on the clock.

In what world do you believe Gold Coasts have managed to keep all their kids? Every year they lose their best senior players from their list, plus one or two kids last year. You put most of those players back in to the current Gold Coast team, and they're pushing the 8, and no one is talking about a crisis on the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast never got as many draft concessions as GWS, they didn't have an appropriate training facility or administration set up until last year, so they weren't as loaded with talent to begin with, or had adequate facilities to help the players develop. The steady bleeding of talent has seen them go from trading water, to clutching at straws, and your club is just as complicit in this as the rest of the VFL.

You want to know why many northern fans dislike the VFL clubs and their fans, it's because of ignorant comments like yours. And then you want to sell them a couple of Utes and charge them the price of a Ferrari. Oh, and you haven't even asked the owner of the Utes is they're up for sale.

My apologies, I probably didn't explain the point I was trying to make.... it was in direct response to a poster saying they would rather rely on the kids they have drafted than bring in older talent.

What I was saying, in response directly to one of your posters, not in general, that if you don't look at bringing in quality players (potentially at the expense of a kid or two), what suggests you will have a better outcome than you have had over the last 5 years... And yes that means you haven't been able to retain your kids, as you rightly point out. Which in part proves my theory to the post I was responding to, who says a Lukosious (who was the kid I proposed to be traded) won't end up asking to leave in 3-5 years anyway just like all the players you mentioned and in the process you have got nothing for him, bar another potential draft pick for him, if that eventuates and be right back in the same spot 3 years down the track. If you don't replace what you have already lost and then try and build (by adding players which was my original suggestion) then what are you expecting????

As for not knowing whether players want to go to your club or not.... well I have never seen a player openly state mid season they were on the hunt for a new club, so by your theory, no-one should ever post a trade scenario because the player traded in question hasn't publicly expressed their desire to leave.... So who's living under a rock.

Anyway, I didn't mean to upset, clearly my opinions not welcome even though I came with good intent. Good luck with your clubs future, apart from old mate here cracking the shits, I genuinely hope you guys turn it around quick, and I think Dew is the man for that.

I'm a Brisbane fan, so it's not my club.

If there was a genuine A grade in the 24 to 26 age bracket, Im sure Gold Coast would trade their top pick for them. That's never been in doubt. They did after all trade pick 2 in 2017 for Lachie Weller. But if there's no such player on offer, of course it's stupid to suggest Gold Coast should still trade out an early pick.

Calm down, basically you are welcome but your assumption is based on nothing, if GCS want to get Crotch brother it is better to get it last year by giving up pick 2 and 3.( assumption they are willing to come and Adelaide offer them to GCS), not after drafting Lukosius.

Pretty sure Martin used the injury and surgery to "park it" for the rest of the season, and wait until the trade period. This way he gets a longer holiday before moving clubs, without risking injuring himself further and risk is move falling through.

Based on what? Yes, I am aware it fits narrative Martin leaving but you just speculate. According to Suns head physiotherapist Martin 'needed surgery to repair quite a significant injury'. How about we also speculate what type of injury Martin suffered. Is it compound fracture, what type of bone break? Did he also damage ligaments, joint?

At the moment Martin is TBA pending 'after a couple more consultations post-surgery we’ll have a bit more of a timeframe on Jack'

I just put in realistic target, Sam Collins mate Nyhuis going to be delist by Fremantle. NEAFL flag with NT Thunder and 2 flag with Collins with Peel thunder in WAFL. Don't expect miracle but at least help out the NEAFL team and protect the kids.

i dont often like what this bloke says and I really hate brisbane lions but he's got a bloody good point.

and whatever that pies supporter was waffling on about(it got kinda twisted) im a former crows fan and jumped ship as soon as the suns came on board to support my local team. I have absolutely no feelings towards the crows anymore and if the suns were to fold would abandon AFL as im sure many others would as their are quite a few passionate suns fans here that only support 1 team and only gave a damn about AFL when they arrived.
