What does pick 25 do for us this year?
Not much right?

Could we get Andrew Phillips as a back up for witts and a future pick?

Martin is pick 6-10 value. I’d be happy for Jack to stay if a deal can’t be made. He might enjoy our new look midfield.
Love the passion bods but you are over valuing jack.

His potential - top 5 pick
His output top 30 pick

Think somewhere in between is fair.

I think he is in a similar boat to McGovern and lobb from last year. Big potential with some runs on the board but certainly not consistent.

Lobb: 11 and 19 to the Giants in exchange for Lobb and picks 14, 43 and 47. = equivalent of pick 41

McGovern: pick 13 for a future third and McGovern.

Definitely want something far closer to the McGovern deal though!

Martin's performances after he clearly checked out were embarrassing. Devalued him significantly. The bloke can't even get motivated to build up his value and impress his potential new Club on the way out the door. Says a lot about him to me.

I watched a couple of quarters from the Collingwood game in R20 and his half-hearted attempts at getting the ball were quite pathetic, especially for someone of his ability, with no second efforts. The talent is there but so is the laziness. When the going gets tough, he’s out of there. Partly why I think he will be a much better player in a better team, where his teammates make life easier for him. Hence he is still a player of value. Not sure life will be that much easier for him at Carlton though, as I don’t think they’re much better than us. He would be of much more value to a top eight team looking for some cream on top.

Let’s hope this gets things moving

Carlton might split their 1st round pick for 2 late 1st rounders

Spot on. The problem for Martin is Carlton is way more into Papley and Martin is not a major priority. On top of this he should have realised not only GC coaches and supporters saw his pathetic pea heart efforts.

Please don’t be condescending by dismissing my views as passion. I value Martin in this trade period with what’s available as 6-10.
He will make Carlton a top 8 team with what he brings to their forward line and midfield.

What happens if we simply can’t make a satisfactory deal with Carlton?

It will get done but if I was Cameron I would be talking to Martin’s manager and saying “ we are miles apart, who else will he consider as if you don’t chose someone we will pick him back up in the draft”

With the PSD no longer in existence I wonder what theoretically happens now to a player that can’t get the deal required to happen

We will be really lucky to get a late first rounded for Martin. He is a tweener, jack of a lot of trades master of none. I reckon is best spot is 3rd tall in the forward line but has the tendency to just drift out of games.. anything in the top 20 and we have made out like bandits. I think he would be good at a Richmond but not sure about Carlton.
Anyway, I always wish the best for Lynchy and Dion, guys that put there heart and soul into this place. Martin, not so much!

Lynch wandering around in a moon boot post bye didn't devalue him
Players coaches and managers know players value and playing like a jellyfish this year won't let Martin or the Club he wants to go to off the hook in terms of paying the right price

Personally I think Ben King for no other reason than wanting to be out of his brother’s shadow.

Really, really hoping both demonstrate great character and maturity and re-sign for at least a couple of more seasons to give the club a real chance to show them their futures lie here. At worst they’ll enjoy 2 more years of sun and surf on great pay, then at age 22 can name their price and destination.
