Game over SA 7.4 WA 4.11, bit lucky in the end with WA peppering the goals but just couldn't find the opening between the big sticks

Good win away for SA, though WA seemed better in the bits I saw. WA better on the spread and SA maybe having them in the air.

Fantastic win by SA - thought they out muscled them at contest after half time despite the WA kids having more talent

The draft looks ok to me given it’s a strong vic metro and vic country year as well

You would hope the Edwards crew would come to their senses by next year and get to keep Luke home....because he is a far, far better prospect than his brother. Bigger, stronger, quicker with a far more penetrating kick. Somehow I have my doubts with the way they reacted to Jackson being cut. Yet to suit up for Werribee in the VFL and only a couple of games for Spotswood in the Ammos in the WRFL. Did play one game in the Young Guns series but didn't play in the 2nd Young Guns game recently.

Very good prospect - could just draft him anyway . Don’t like the Edwards family behaviour re Jackson . At least the club gave him a chance when no one else was going to

The Torrens University SA Under-18 team has kick-started its campaign with a hard-fought 11-point win against Western Australia in Perth on Saturday.

Despite trailing the Sandgropers in several key statistic categories, the Croweaters displayed great resilience and efficiency to break clear of the hosts during the third term.

Booting four goals to WA’s one during the premiership quarter, Tony Bamford’s charges were able to hold on during the tense final term at the new Optus Stadium.

SA captain Will Gould led a valiant defensive unit which was forced to absorb a mountain of pressure as WA engineered 11 more inside 50 entries.

North Adelaide talls Dyson Hilder and Karl Finlay did their bit with Hilder taking some intercept marks while Luke Edwards was impressive with his composure in rebounding the ball from the back half.

Eagles midfielders Harry Schoenberg and Lachie McNeil did plenty of heavy lifting, with 38 disposals between them as the former set up the sealing goal with a handball over the top to under-ager Corey Durdin.

McNeil also showed off the defensive side to his play by laying a game-high 12 tackles.

Norwood’s Dylan Stephens was SA’s leading disposal winner with 23 as he ran into the right spaces to find the ball while his Redlegs’ team-mate Cam Taheny helped break the game open with two goals in the third term.

Excitement machine Kysaiah Pickett showed off his skills with a remarkable left foot snap goal from the boundary line during the third quarter.

The Torrens University SA Under-18 team will now turn its attention to facing Victoria Metro in Game 2 at Alberton Oval next Saturday afternoon.

Any write up which didnt mention Will Days game is questionable.
Daniel Sladojevic isnt going to make it. Slow, average mark and is too small.
The club needs to heal the rift with Tyson if they want to get the best FS prospect we have had. And dont blame Tyson. Our admin has proved stupid and inept over the last few years with CM, the camp, losing player after player and people here are rushing to blame Tyson. There is a common factor of our clubs admin.
There is a number of good defenders in the SA squad this year. This will be our strength in the champs.

Nup, vehemently disagree with your summation of the Jackson Edwards episode, he's just not that good and a list clogger on an AFL list. Only reason he even got an invite to Werribee was a "sweetheart" deal.....notice Chocko is still to select him even when he's fit to play.

Don't bother debating with Cleric. He's only here to sling s**t on the club.

Drives me nuts how many write ups, mentions, podcasts, fathers sons / grand father sons, brothers, basketballers, was in a good spot but didn’t get a kick, had 3 kicks and kicked a goal (from a free kick), tried hard, played well in under 16’s, nearly took a big mark, looked dangerous, played 17’s futures etc etc etc. Look deeper “draft specialists”, don’t pre-prepare who you are going to write about and actually write about those who got a kick or did something that influenced the game.

And no one has since
I don't believe this Edwards family falling out myth on bigfooty.

Either way, in the clubs defence, look at what we brought in to replace edwards with, any of hamill, sholl, stengle, macadam and butts. Look at how all those guys are going, the family could hardly make a claim jackson would outdo any of them currently, let alone after a couple of years in the system.

You are basing everything on that Tyson is unhappy we delisted Jackson. There may have been more to it than that. The way our admin has been of late, it wouldnt have surprised me if there was more to it than that.
Whatever it is, the result is we miss out on the best FS prospect we have had to date, and with little on the horizon. The club needs to do better than that.

You've just basically admitted you have no clue what went on there but hey if it fits your narrative it's all good. Looking at it objectively we just didn't see an AFL player in Jackson is my take on it.....and until he gets on another AFL list and proves them wrong that's what I'm going with. Seems like a very nice lad that perhaps has been too intensely wrapped up in being an AFL player but sometimes the truth hurts and both he and Tyson will eventually have to accept it. To bring Luke into it isn't something I'd do as a parent personally, let him make his own way in football and encourage him by all means but not influence his career decision for him..

Exactly, I don't know why Tyson has an issue with the club, nor does anyone else. Just putting everything on Jackson getting delisted is short sighted.
However, the way our club loses top talent on a regular basis, second only to GCS and GWS, together with how the clubs admin such as Burton have conducted themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasnt just Jackson getting delisted.

Because we worked out someone wasn't going to make it, and delisted him?

If Tyson is having a hissy fit, that says so much more about him then it does us. It's a business and you don't stick with someone for a long time because of "loyalty" when you know they aren't up to it.

Have you spoken to. Tyson and confirmed that's why he has the shits with the club?

Not at all, and I don't care to either.

I equally don't give the slightest * why he's upset with the club. It won't impact out FS chances because we offer an easy path for Luke to "have it all" so to say, a guaranteed list spot (even if his credentials falter in his draft year as we've taken two FS that didn't make the grade) and an easy way to keep all of his friendships/network/set up. Now if he's a serial loner, we may be in a tad bit of strife.

We gave him a shot, he didn't make it. Tyson should be grateful because no one else was willing too as Jackson slid all the way to the rookie draft and can't even break into the VFL seniors right now after a year on an AFL list. It's painfully evident we made the right call. So yeah, I don't give a * at all and this is just noise for the sake of being noise.

Not a myth. This was reported in the Advertiser on 14th April

Tyson believes that Jackson’s strong tie to the Crows cost him dearly because other AFL clubs did not give him due consideration as a potential draftee, presuming he was simply Crows property and wanted to stay in South Australia.
“It’s almost like other clubs don’t put much time into them because they just think they are going to go to the club that their father played at,” Tyson said.

“They’ve got that (father-son academy) program running, and Jackson did get involved in that a little bit, but we are not going down that path with Luke this time around to be honest. We’d like to keep his options open at the moment and just see,” Tyson said on Dwayne’s World on SEN this week.
“It’s something to think about. We just want to do the best thing for Luke, and it depends where the player is sitting (in the likely draft order) ….. but I think having more options available” Tyson said
