We didn't give up 13.
We gave 26, 28 & McAdam for McGovern and a future 3rd.

Adelaide then traded 26, 28 and 40 for 13

Thankyou Stamos.
This McGovern for 13 and McAdam crap is infuriating.
McAdam and the future 3rd cancel each other out.
26 & 28 were then pushed out in the draft by F/S etc.
It was never 13 and McAdam for McGovern.
2 picks close to 30 for McGovern was excellent work imo.
McGovern right now is in Russell’s hands and has admitted it’s time for him to get serious.
If he indeed “bites” the bullet and presents physically and mentally ready to go in the future, people will be calling the trade one of the better ones.
I’m a fan of McGovern, he’s got that something special most don’t.
A late bloomer with some rough edges that have needed attention as was the case with his brother could well develop into a diamond.

Stiff as a corpse if he doesn’t get another contract, is Daisy....

Why wouldn't Thomas be given another year?
It's only this year that he's got that zip back and has been an important part of the mix.

If Simpson was to retire, moving on Thomas would be silly. He'd probably end up at Gold Coast, if he wanted to go.

Much harder now to work out who gets delisted. I have no idea of contract status but the ones that jump out for me are Lobbe, Garlett, Polson. I have not been a fan but I reckon Lang showed something yesterday. He is still young and has 5 weeks to earn his spot.

Polson has another year to run.
Lang really needs to impress (think he may have some fans at the club though, injury cursed) as the number count is low on the possible delistings without a curveball, or 2, being thrown.

I was unaware Polson had another year to go. Hard to honestly see him making it now.

Perhaps Macreadie is another that had to be in the conversation. Has struggled to get on the park over the 3 odd years he has been with us?

We have spent a lot of time saying how much we need a forward pocket this year.

I think our biggest need is line breaking run from the back half.

Saad type run.
Not as required now. The game has changed. The top teams are the ones that actually move the ball the slowest from their back half. Would it be nice to have ? Sure. But what you actually need are better ball users by foot from the back half.

Macreadie has another year to run also.....Keep up. :)

I don't care how many we replace, as long we replace them with better players.
No need to quite more senior players just to pick up another Finbar, by that I mean a development player.
We don't require any more development players unless we get them as cat B's.

We get some of our trade and FA targets, I can easily see us only drafting 3 players. Potentially 2 ND and 1 Rd

Is Fasolo contracted for next year?

Perhaps I should ask who is out of contract?

Drafting is fine, but draft for needs and if they work out, then great and if not...we tried.
The first is highly unlikely to make it to draft night, unless things just don't pan out for us the way we wanted them to.

Fasolo? I'm really not sure.
Three years is what seems to be on record, but that may have had some clauses attached.

1 year with a club clause for second year was my understanding

Based off this season surely he does not get another one?

I’d say depends on A)what SOS can pull in the draft/FA Period and B) where they see him internally whether it’s injuries or himself that’s hampered his season. On exposed form as an outsider I’d pack him up and thank him for his time but that’s on the club.

I like Polson, hope he gets one more year, just playing as a mid, not small fwd. Has great speed, difficult height to tackle. He fumbles which is fixable and kicking was down a bit this year - maybe confidence.

I think daisy unfortunately becomes a victim of his age. Im hoping he gets another year but gc could do a lot worse picking him up if we choose not to.

If Daisy and/or Simpson play on, one of them needs to move out of defence if not both. With Doc & Willo coming back and SPS looking better and better it’s so important that the group start playing together and learn to gel. Just vital for any good defence. Have to try and fit Marchbank in as well and I still rate Macreadie Goddard Schumacher. If Charlie McKay TDK step up McGovern & Casboult are also options.

Depth [emoji15]

PS if Daisy plays on I would play him up forward. His experience and smarts would be good amongst our young talls. Can kick a goal as well

Lang starting to show a bit. I wouldn't be delisting him anytime soon.
