Version 1.1.1

Rookies will obviously change.

Again & I raised this the other day ....for a side predicted as a Top 4 side this year, there aren't too many Essendon players being picked in initial sides

Hurley has certainly fallen out of favor .....Zerrett also appears out of favor, cursed along with Sloane for being taggable

They have no sc relevant ruck
I like baby joe daniher but hes so injury prone
Hepatitis is DT only
Shiel the ultimate underperformer
Hooker doesnt know whether hes Arthur or Martha

So its Zerrett or bust

Sorry, have no idea how that "anger" emoticon got into my post ??????

Good side Andrew .....obviously it'll change as we get a better idea of the strength of Rookies by zone

So you're thinking 4 DEF premo's x 4 MID Premo's + 2 mid pricers x 4 FWD premos

Not many with Dusty so far .....and D1 is interesting ; Lloyd, Laird, or Sicily ? .....this could prove to be a critical call as we progress

Yeah, I'm leaning towards that structure ATM. There's so much value in Def, I could end up stacking that line all the way to D6 if there ends up being 3 forward rookies deserving of starting on field. (I'm classing Roberton as a fallen premo at D5)
I believe Lloyd is overpriced.
I looked back at my 2018 Rd1 team and Dusty was my 2nd most expensive starting pick and I didn't even hesitate spending the big $$ on him. He started off with a bang before niggly injuries slowed him down. This year he starts 100k cheaper. Crazy good value for a player still in his prime.

I don’t mind Devon Smith being picked. Not sure he can go much higher but will consistently bring good scores. Not sure on other Essendon players. Daniher is very cheap but want to see him fit first.
He still appears to be struggling from reports .......Essendon don't often have great Rookies for SC

First picked for me next season. Was a nightmare rolling through the entire 2018 season without him. Every time I planned on bringing him in I had injuries elsewhere to cover.

Team looks solid. All of these guys have been in drafts of mine so far, bar Brayshaw and Witherden (seem to go with Andrews if I take a Bris DEF)

What do you think Viney will do to Brayshaw? Seems all of Brayshaws decent scores seem to appear when Viney was out. Concerned at all?

I don't think Viney will affect Brayshaw's scoring negatively at all. Rds 17-23 where they both played Bray was quite consistent scoring 116, 87, 80, 115, 116, 115, 116. Bray slowed during the finals, but AFL finals are a whole different beast. The player who's I believe will be most affected by Viney is Nathan Jones (who is turning 31 in Jan) I can see him in a reduced midfield role going forward while Bray's mid role expands further.

So v1.3.

Oliver back in, Yeo out.
Martin may become Grundy
Naismith may become Mumford with Daniher becoming Westhoff.
Possibly run Grundy and Martin and dropping B.Crouch to a rookie for cash.

Sitting with $233k spare.

Yeah #metoo

I feel though that it’s the year for it though. A lot of decent injury recovery projects or people in new clubs with new roles.
Like Newman not good enough to play in Sydney but is a scorer and will be a superhero at Carlton.

Hahaaa. Saving the mayo for Hannas & Parker.
Hannas to Paarker to Hannas back to Paarker.
Oh that's SPECIAL and has the old Swans ring to it.

Parker and Hind bargain rookies to play early me thinks.

I think I’ve found a good balance here with strong lines across the board. Will sit on this until JLT and tinker.

Defenders:
Lairdy Blue chip defender who racks up the pill consistently. Ultra reliable.
Whitfield came on strong on the back end of last year with 9/13 tons. Can score big and I expect a bump into a 100+ avg after successive 97/99 avg in 2017/18. Massive upside and will be one of the top defenders.
ZWilliams is nicely priced and too good to pass. Should take over that QB role across HB and get a lot of ball movement through him to propel into attack. Extra bonus if he takes kick ins with the new rules. 95+avg.
Roberton I consider a young fallen premo after his 2017 season. He was solid and I’m hoping he’ll continue with that form after an injury plagued season last year. A no brained at his price. 90+avg.
Birchall is a placeholder pending preseason. If he’s starting rd1 then he stays and should be a decent cow.

Players I like to include:
Lloyd. Sicily. Blakely. Crisp. Witherden.

Midfield:
Mitchell Fyfe and Cripps are all studs who can churn out some beautiful captain scores.
I’m ultra keen on Dusty as a POD (hopefully). I have a gut feel he’ll bounce back to his Brownlow form and once again be one of the premier mids in the comp.
Hanners is a risk and I’ll admit he looked cooked last year. Prepared to give him a slot provided gets through preseason unscathed.
Averages 93.3 @ Etihad (Marvel) which will be his new home. Big reward if he can find fitness....and the footy.

Players I like:
Macrae. Neale. JKelly. Oliver. Treloar. Beams. Zerrett. BCouch (loads of potential). Bont.

Rucks:
Tinkered mainly with a cheap R2 but the thought of starting these 2 studs Grundy Gawn from rd1 could prove to be a serious POD move. A heavy price to pay but I have to consider it to set me apart from the field, especially if big Max goes BANG!

Players I like:
Goldstein is another strong consideration. Solid second half last year, no Preuss and Norf have beefed up their midfield with the inclusions of Hall, Polec and Tyson. Should help with his HTA. Mummy (an old favorite) also an option if a cheap ruck like Preuss, Clarke etc can cover his first 2 weeks.

Forwards:
Danger. Nuff said
Wingard a good smoky to have a big first year at the Hawks. He’s burnt me in the past but I like what he could potentially bring at Hawthorn. Should split some solid minutes in the midfield and loves a goal.
JDG. My new favorite magpie. This campaigner has LOADS of potential and his upside is enormous. Very Dusty like. Hopefully recovered from leg injury I expect a major step up this season. If Elliott can stay healthy up forward, he could rotate with Beams for more midfield time.
Greene. What can you say about this campaigner? Just can’t ignore that price for what he potentially brings.

Players I like:
Heeney. Gray. Dunkley. Lynch

Very, very solid team across all lines brother. Love the Grundy/Gawn combo. Ballsy.

Here’s my current team - Version 1.3
