Yeah, again, I'm not saying we should have kept them and they were going to be stars. Just the frustration of Cho not playing them in a dead season.

We delisted Goddard, Carlton delisted Rowe. We essentially "traded" them to each other.

And even if Goddard isn't doing much at Carlton, he's still a far better footballer than Joyce

I'll look forward to the evidence of Goddard vs Joyce.

Yes probably correct. The one who timed his contract well is Marshall. What does he get if he continues this form for another 11 games. He will go from minimum to huge.

I’d be surprised if he was outside our top 5 in the B&F. He could easily be on 500k + a year on his new deal.

Yeah I don't like the idea of paying Billings that much, but that is the type of overs we'd have to pay to get a player in of that calibre so I think we'd probably be silly to let one walk.

I really hope we don't pay him that much. I know we need to spend the money but im not sure that's the price we should be paying him. Its way overs. More than Danger if you believe what you read.

If players are getting 800 grand for crap pod casts, drinking coffee, and some okay games here and there then the club is doomed. I'm of the opinion that we need to clear the decks. Being held to ransom by spoilt kids, for being slightly above average is dumb. Our development sucks, true, but I get the impression that some of these guys are just ticking boxes to get by. I know i'll be smashed for what i'm about to say next, but i'm pretty sure some of you will agree...we look like a team that doesn't want to win. We have a team of about five guys that look like they give a crap week in and week out. How many guys do you reckon would bleed for the club? It's just a pay cheque and early retirement for most of these guys...and it shows with our "workman like" performances. That's why I like guys like Wilkie, Marshall, and Parker, and yeah, they've only been there for 7 months. They've had to work harder, and get better at their craft just to get into the system...and look at them, some of our best performers for the year compared to guys that have been there for over half a decade. I hope at the end of this year our list gets a very cold shower poured on it. We should be a better team than what we are, and that includes all the injuries that we have had. I like what is happening behind the scenes, so at least there is some progress, but jesus...enough of the dead wood, get the chainsaw out.

I’m not as certain as you. The club have plenty of cap space & no stars to pay so Connors & Billings have a fantastic hand to play to extract maximum dollars out of the club.

With the rise in the salary cap, every club is going to have around 5-6 players on 800k plus a year.
He would be in our top 6 players so it won't hurt our cap at all.
I'd rather us pay him that amount than lose him.

Look at what a slight change in coaching philosophy & new found commitment & motivation from players can do when the head coach is changed.

I’d like to see what a few of the underperforming players have to offer under a new head coach before giving up on them.

Grab a free agent or two, use our first pick at the draft or on a gun mature recruit & bring into the 22 Bytel & King who will be like new recruits next year.

Ummm everyone who does footy tips knows to tip the team with the sacked coach, the week after. Doesn't mean much over the long term.

Yes agree. But I’d also like to see him earn his salary. On current output he’s earning 600 not 800-900 IMO.

Cheers. From his footage he kind of reminds me of Seb Ross. Do you know if he was winning a high percentage of contested footy at junior level? That’s what we need him to become IMO.

Unfortunately billings isn’t Shiel. Certainly not yet.

I reckon Billings is better as far as quality goes, Shiel is quick but sprays like a tom cat. Billings is clinical but a bit soft. Billings is still developing at 23 Shiel is 26 and ceilinged.

I hear people say this quite often. I’d be keen to see the data to back it up. Not saying you are definitely wrong but I think this is quite overplayed.

Btw North have won three on the trot since it was announced Scott was gone.

I’ll watch the Blues next match with interest. I have a strong feeling they have drastically underperformed & will finish the season off well.

Jones is a terrible disposer since moving to the midfield. His pace is good though.

A lot has been said about his kicking, just because he can hit targets with both feet. But his hands in close are some of the best I've seen.
He is another one who needs a bit of confidence and a tank but will be a star.

I remember Papley being linked a while back.

This is a name i'm very interested in amigo!

Every time i see him play, he rips it up...Displaying almost freakish qualities at times!
Certainly surprised the hell out of me as to just how good this kid is!
He doesn't look it physically! Shortish with a keg for a rig and looks like he should be a slow battler
But he's got some delightful tricks, pace and something we seriously lack in uncompromising passion for the contest and cause!

George said Gresh's new deal was 650k with incentives so less than most would have expected.
