I think he's a fair way ahead of Lonie to be honest. Yes he's an inconsistent 22 year old, but he's a proven match winner.

I wouldn't give up our first rounder no, but our first round pick will likely end up being between 6-10.

So what would he cost? He's a match winner who goes missing at times and then comes out and plays out of his skin others. He might be a star but there is still the possibility that he's more Acres than elite. I kind of like him but there is a need for mids that overrides getting him.

Picks between 6 and 10 have got some of the best players in the AFL.

And Jack Lonie is an inconsistent 22 year old, with low quality forward line entries.

I reckon Lonie was playing really well as a link up forward this year, his delivery into he forward line has been missed.

Sorry Mr pie in the sky and friends ;)

With all of Savage, Paton, Webster, McKenzie, Wilkie, White, and Marsh.
We either need to transition one or some into the midfield or we need to look at trading at least one.

Do we think any of them are midfield material? Webster? Paton?
Would Savage be worth anything in trade? McKenzie?

We simply can't lock them all away for ever and play only 3 or 4 of them each week. ( assuming Geary has a few years left ).

We tend to overrate our own a bit sometimes when we compare them to external players. Papley would come in as a clear improvement on Lonie. We talk about Lonie in terms of what he could be. I'm not criticising him. His back end last year was very good and he was solid this year until injury. We certainly could have done with him in the last six weeks. But Papley has already already kicked over 100 goals at 1.5 a game. This year he's on track to kick 35 odd goals and get 17 touches a week. He's the sort of player who we would think is a future A grader if he was on our list.

Paton slight midfield change. The rest none. Savage maybe a real late second rounder but not likely. I think he is pretty old. Maybe nothing.

Fair enough, I just want mids. I think Lonie hasn't had the opportunity that Paps as though to be fair. Sydney identified him and played him.

Look here Risky; if you get chucked out of Marvel on Saturday night then you’re on your own [emoji51]

So I watched gws vs us from a few years back last night as I couldn’t get to sleep. The one where we win of course.

What the hell has happened to Ross, he looked quick and aggressive and was everywhere. Dare i say it he looked elite!!!!!

He was so aggressive at the ball and had real zip. He honestly looks like a different player now, and looks like he is coasting at 75% compared to what I watched last night.

I wonder who leaked our Coniglio offer to the media? I doubt it came from the club but if it did, what do we have to benefit from it - strategically?
Coniglio is the obvious target from GWS being one of the best midfielders in the competition as a free agent. Surely history tells us with these offers we are better off not making it known to the media and stipulating that with their agents etc?

Whew , add Coffield and there's 8 of them.
Savage is 28, so he could have 4 or 6 years left in him.
I wouldn't de-list him for nothing, but i can see him getting under pressure. He's more likely to bomb it long into the midfield ( where the other team can win it and throw it back at us ) while others are better at picking their targets.

I think he suffers when we have no good mids around him. He's mostly outside and with out Steven to take the heat off him he has to be more accountable and gets ridden harder.

Savage has been excellent this year and has finally found his niche, we'd be crazy to delist him.

I don't think he is coasting I just think he is the one to have suffered from Armo hitting his shelf life and Stuv being out among other things.

He sort of went under the radar a bit and I think as a result of a great season or two other teams have put more work into him.

His kicking this year has been deplorable to say the least, was always best playing as an inside feeder but he had to adapt his game. Unfortunately for him, his outside game suffers due to his kicking skills.

I hate the leaks in AFL land. I'm sure there's spotters fee's involved.
For me the most disgusting one was the "StKilda Schoolgirl "

At the time: Schoolgirl tells principle she is pregnant to an AFL player. ( lie ). Principle calls police.
Some mercenary prick at either the School or the Police. Decided to blab it to the media.

Now , it was Duthy and she revelled in the attention. But if it had been a real kid , out of her depth in that situation, what are potential ramifications of shoving her into the limelight ? My money would be on the cops leaking it. Mainly because they were more likely to know who to go to.

It doesnt matter where that came from a number of individuals f.....d up and the media love that shit ala the current Security Guards sensationalism. But what does that have to do with us currently trying to attract quality players?
