Ok , Buddy had a illness problem so he turns to spud status , so in your grading he goes from A grade to a B-, then the following year he kicks 10 his next game in Perth against West Coast.

a champ is a champ no matter how his head space is.
How much time did buddy miss and secondly when did he want to leave. Thirdly as good as jack is he isn’t buddy.

Well how is king and bytel looking on here

I see them exactly the same, you wouldn't want to count them until they play to a standard.

I have no issue with going after Draper as a left field cheapy but we are going after a guy who literally played 18 lower level games and has done a knee that will see him down for 12 months. We offered him 4 years on $450,000 pa. If he's a spud or injury prone he'll be like an anchor. To me is smack of weirdly desperate posturing not clever management. Essendon won't trade him unless we pay overs. Marshall will probably keep him out of the side any way in that time.

Well if you offer that money which could be rubbish or fact you can’t then expect to get him for pick 60.

Without being rude I think maybe suggests it’s an opinion. Maybe we won last week. Maybe the twin towers fell down. It’s a fact that dunstan was better than plugger.
No Maybe about it we get what we want for Jack or he stays or sits out , club before player

So get a cheap ready made VFL ruck for nothing.

Fact. That won’t happen or what we the club want may not marry up with what some on here want. If jack wants to go a deal will get done. It just will. Happy to have your new mod job on it. I will even mow all your lawns for a week

It could be pub talk between the managers as well , one saying we have a good young ruck developing who is coming out of contract , what would you offer for him / then it grows legs and our management says they looking at everything - in the end making the Bombers needing to up there price to keep him.
Doesn't hurt us at all - feel they will find a 2nd ruck , Calton's Andrew Phillips will do - off contract and they have a good young ruckman as well.

You're to emotional on this subject and like I said earlier if we know he is leaving he stays at Sandy for the rest of the year, club before player

I think it's fairly obvious. He's an almost 30 year old that has barely played a game in 12 months due to mental health issues.

The one thing the club has the upper hand in is the fact he's contracted, but I can't see us playing hard ball with him as we will have his best interests in mind.

12 months ago he was worth a top 10 pick. Now I think he's worth a second rounder unfortunately.
Ok so we've established that he is more valuable to us than he is in a trade. Makes it pretty straight forward then... keep him unless we are blown away by an offer because he is still contracted.

I think letting Stuv go makes sense. He is not a player who will play beyond 32yo. Does not love the training and looking after himself enough. Let him go, if we hold him we won’t get much out of him anyway. If he retires we get nothing. Try to get a late first and change at best, if not a late first is better than nothing. Also free’s up cash to keep going after free agents. This year has proven there is life beyond Stuv.

.
I hope he stays as well for another 3 years.
But if he wants to leave screw Geelong and get every inch of value we can for him, he is contracted its in our favour or we keep him or he can stand out of footy for a year

Yep - fit enough to play for Geelong fit enough to play for us. Any hint that Geelong are dudding us - walk away.

If he wants out for personal reasons, then its up to his manager to convince Geelong to pay a fair price. If not - well he can take the year off.

I'd rather he play for the Lorne Dolphins than Geelong IF it looked like we were being screwed.

Remember last October when I said Steven wasn’t happy and wanted to go to Geelong and was howled down by the regulars here? Well there you go.
I remember. I also remember that it's still pure speculation. The intell I have on Jack is that he loves the club and the boys and doesn't want out. Until I hear or we hear otherwise it means nothing that Purple is reporting it.

I also remember the million other guesses you have had that were completely false. Jaeger Omeara comes to mind.

I know I am dreaming but imagine getting Hill, Langdon and Martin. Boom finals. Fills the needs.

I doubt we have what is required to trade for all three.

Personally I am not in favour of Martin as he is inconsistent.

A package to get the two Freo boys I would be keen on, and most of all I would like Hill.

Then why trade him? Wait until he is out of contract. The compensation would be better
Because he might not play next year at all the way as is.. so we get nothing from him next year, and will need to wait a year just to get draft pick which depends on his pay packet? at 30 with mental issues, not sure if he will even get a second round compensation.. if we trade him this year, Geelong will give us a draft pick or player which helps us straight away.. we need midfield help now, not in a year’s time.
