Could be Sydney running this angle just to get him cheaper?
Been in Adelaide the last few days for work. Some of my HNW clients who are crows supporters and close to the board have all been mentioning Smith To Brisbane. Despite the fact the latest news from the horse's mouth is contrary, they said its still on the cards. Anyone hearing anything more from our side?
Yes

We haven't even started trade week(s) yet & I'm over it. Goes sooo long & virtually nothing happens till the last day.

Six hours, nineteen minutes, right ascension, fourteen degrees, twenty-three minutes declination... no sighting

Six hours, nineteen minutes, right ascension, fourteen degrees, fifty-eight minutes declination! ...no sighting.

With someone from the Suns(I can't recall who) on Trade Radio yesterday saying the Ah Chee to the Lions move should be a simple trade and done early you would assume a deal has already been agreed on. What's the feeling on what/should we be giving up for him? Either one of our current picks 34 or 44 should be plenty? Or does a player swap make sense eg. one of Keays/C.Lyons/Cutler for Ah Chee.
It was their list manager, Craig Cameron.

If it makes you feel any better?
I feel pretty sure the paperwork will be lodged for CEY tomorrow.

Unrelated, did you notice that Cameron indicated that Lions are busy with a couple of things open in the air. You may have some surprises in store besides Ah Chee and CEY.

Probably looking to trade picks for an earlier one.

Other clubs have academy kids that might get early bids and they don't want to burn a their first pick.

Yeh I did hear that, makes for some interesting times ahead.

Kamdyn Mcintosh looks a likely type, premiership player with Richmond, fell out of favour late in the season, is looking for more opportunities.

Shout me down, don’t care, I would be going to WC (and Jarrod’s manger and saying) here’s pick 16 let’s facilitate this deal with Tim Kelly. Give us something back and happy days. 2 Camerons in the forward line, who wouldn’t pay to see that?!

Dunno if I would even ask for something back. In what is a, supposedly, shallow draft. Here we have a kid that has proven he can play at this level, and would - in time - develop into an important part of the team.

What is it that you think he’ll add to our team?

Runs both ways, can kick goals, can tackle, he has versatility, is only 25, He will not only extend our depth, but will more than likely force his way into our best 22 for round 1 next year.

I’d hope not. He’s an awful kick and decision maker for a wing. Can’t really see any upside compared to Cutler or Taylor.

Article featuring Tom Cutler looking at Victorian clubs... But good news regarding Matt Eagles, looks like we will be able to retain him as a cat b

Well not quite - "the AFL will allow them to again classify him as a Category B player if no other club picks him"

Wouldn't have been hard for them to make an exception for Eagles.

I dunno, if we wanted to retain him we should have to comply with the usual rules re Cat B. I can't see why we should get an exception.

Its obviously good for us that we'll have the opportunity to get him as a Cat B if he gets through though.
