I actually enjoy following him for his trolling although he's getting a bit stale by now.

I do kind of agree, but obviously the club believes it is going to be a pretty tight squeeze.

I think the club are just giving the AFL the chance to keep the storyline going; he’s obviously going to be cut otherwise

The guy i want most at the lions “Essendon's Conor McKenna can read football 'like no other”.
“Tyrone's Conor McKenna Pulls Off Outrageous Solo Dummy In AFL Victory” the above quotes say it all, need i say any more.
Essendon are close to their salary cap apparently. If they want jack martin, Brisbane should speak to the suns regards a three way trade. I have watched him cut up sides with speed and skill. If the club really wants to advance their playing list in a positive way for me, he is an absolute must. My view only. I hope fellow countryman a Mr James Madden can convince him what a great club we are ,and that he is important and vital piece of the puzzle ,in our desire ,to achieving greatness.

Ive heard gold coast aren't overly keen on dealing with us regarding Ah Chee after we embarrassed them last period with Lyons and pick swap

That’s not our doing, GC had a part in it too, at the time would have thought they had a good deal, win some and they lost that one

Rory Laird - lock it in.
And yes, he is an A Grader.

This has been known for some time and journalists know this as well. Barrett clearly knows who the player is but is clearly playing the game.
As per Neale last year.
Once word gets out that Rory wants out and he wants to come to us that's when things get interesting.

All the talk on Crows' board is Laird to a Victorian based team (Hawks and Dons). Due to rumours of his VIC based GF refusing to relocate. Pipeline dreams of him coming to us unfortunately. Happy to be wrong though. He is a gun.

Wouldn't think Ah Chee would be such a high priority for the Lions that we would be paying overs for him. He'd just be depth at this point, even assuming he could stay off the injured list. If the Suns don't want to deal, it's surely not that much skin off our nose.

Report: Multiple clubs circling star Crows defender

A number of clubs are tracking the availability of star Adelaide defender Rory Laird, according to former Crow Andrew Jarman.

Jarman believes the club’s poor performances on the field over the last couple of seasons has left them “vulnerable.”

“Vultures have left their nest. He would be a very good pick up with one of these powerhouse, Essendon, Hawthorn-type clubs,” Jarman told Triple M’s Rush Hour with Jars Louie.

“I don’t know what his situation is. But all I’m saying is that those smart clubs, they hand pick three or four of the best ones. And he’s on that list.”

Laird, who is from South Australia, is contracted until the end of 2021, when he will become a restricted free agent.

He was a rare bright spot for the Crows in an otherwise disappointing campaign, averaging 28.3 disposals, 5.7 marks and five rebound 50s.

The Roars Players linked to Brisbane

Hugh Greenwood
– Appears certain to leave the Crows at the end of the year after struggling to secure a place in the best 22. Hawthorn, Brisbane, St Kilda and Gold Coast are all known to be interested. Out of contract

Callum Ah Chee – Has requested a trade away from Gold Coast. Yet to nominate a preferred destination, but it’s believed he may stay in Queensland and join the Brisbane Lions. Out of contract

Jon Ceglar – A chance to become a three-club player with speculation he’ll move to Brisbane as mature ruck depth behind Stefan Martin. Out of contract.

Interesting: Nathan Jones – Knocked back a low-money, one-year offer from Melbourne. It’s hard to imagine him playing at a different club. Unrestricted free agent.

Wonder what Laird would cost us?
Will be 26 by start of next season.
AA squad x2, BnF winner

He was in the AA team 2017 and 2018, not just squad. Would probably cost us our Collingwood pick, doubt they would settle for the GC pick. I wouldn't want us to if we were in the same position.

This is referring to management of the Suns? They made those moves of their own volition, they weren't blackmailed into it, so I don't see why they're complaining. I felt a bit bad about getting Lyons for nothing when it happened, but as I was told by others here, they wanted to release him, since they didn't rate him and were paying him a lot.

The pick swap could have gone either way, sometimes you lose when you gamble, as the Suns should have had fresh in their minds after losing the pick swap with the Weagles. I doubt many of us here expected our first to be anywhere past 11 anyway, which would have been a balanced trade. I thought the move was seriously dumb for the Suns at the time, not for the future pick but because McLennan had openly stated he wanted to go to the Suns and he was projected to go around that pick. And they ended up paying a steep price to West Coast again just to get a pick in that range back to take McLennan. All to just take the same gamble that backfired on them badly the previous year.

Really, if the Suns management make dumb moves then refuse to deal with a club afterwards because they're sulking about it like children, they don't deserve to be running an AFL outfit. That's just gross incompetence. Any club could have made the same moves with the Suns, not just us.

I'm guessing they'd want more than that for a two time AA who is still in contract. They'd probably demand 15 and next years 1st, maybe more.

Not sure if this can be correct given he's uncontacted, wants to come to us and we'll trade for him. We also back them up on Qld football matters and Fagan has a good relationship with Dew. It'll happen very early in the trade period

Another player i like is “Cornes explained he thought Amon was Port Adelaide’s most improved player, as he gives their midfield something they don’t have, praising his outside run, speed and kicking penetration.”

Disgruntled at his treatment by port. I like players who size an opportunity.more speed in our team ,outside run , penetrating kick. I believe would be good addition to our side. I like attacking players.

“Karl Amon produces three special goals to push the Power to victory”
‘Amon speeds away for Port's first
Karl Amon has put on the afterburners as he kicked his side's first goal of the match late in the opening term’

Bottom line -A player with a point to prove.

I don't think we embarrassed gold Coast i think they embarrassed themselves. We had a need, they wanted him gone and were concentrating on what he didn't do. We have a different philosophy in we concentrate on what a player can do. they cleared a bid salary cap space to hold some young guns. I think the suns and the Lions are comrade in arms to some extent, both clubs know for AFL to succeed in Qld both clubs need to succeed.

"I moved in with Dan and (former Lion) Tom Cutler when I first came - In today's Courier Mail Monday, September 2nd, in a short story about Zac Bailey written by Lachlan Grey. I'm guessing a typo of sorts.

Can't see it happening. If we recruit Jenkins I'll eat my hat.
Please God, no.

For whatever reason I read this and was left asking myself why you would be so passionately against Bangy eating his hat. I blame a 20 hour trip back form the USA and jetlag

I can see our need for a good full-forward, I just don't think Jenkins is that man for us. Despite being huge, he doesn't use his body well enough to take contested marks, I reckon. I'd rather have Josh Bruce or Charlie Dixon.

Pick swap wasn’t embarrassing at the time for gold

I reckon Dixon is cooked from injury. Bruce not a terrible option though I'm not sure he'd be worth giving up a second round pick which you'd think would be what the Saints were after.
