Fages was on SEN this morning in short was saying there will be 3 or 4 de listings soon. They played the older guys in the NEAFL gf instead of the young guys to help those older ones with finding a new home. Spoke glowingly about Toby wooler saying had a great year and thought this year was really his first after the injuries of last year. Also said ballenden should be ready to step up to senior level next season and Tom Fullerton May be a bit longer. Also said there is a group already training together and NO off season surgeries for any player this year. I’ve posted podcast in the podcast media thread

Cutler is a player who by his physique, mobility and long kicking promised a lot but never really delivered. Interesting to see if the Essendon coaching staff can get more out of him. Good luck to him and them if they can.

I was never sold on him. I don't believe he will be on an AFL list in 2 years time. I think our coaches have a good history of knowing when to cash out on players and they know more than we do. I don't think Cutler will any different. Hope i am proven wrong though, I do wish him all the best.

Same with Lewey. Absolutely love him, one of my fave players in the last decade, I just think he will be playing NEAFL for Sydney in his third year.

Wow. No off season surgeries. That is next level stuff. Well done to our high performance crew under Damien Austin. Take a bow.

Also had a bit of a laugh at John Ralph last night after someone highlighted his tweet regarding Cutler. In the post trade recap his co-host mentioned the deal Gold Coast wanted for Martin was pick 9 with 15 coming back. He thought this was the deal for Daniher and went on for a bit about that being not worth it for Essendon, with his co-host not having the heart to correct him. Moments later he was waxing lyrical about Jones bringing his elite foot skills to the Saints. I chuckled. Was not his best work

Sorry for late reply, just out of hospital today. Mate, i just think we have shored up our midfield this and last year with neale, lyons and cey and matho, c lyons and others for depth. We have added a bit more depth in defense with birch and ah chee adding the pace we need. Walker, payne add depth. So i think we are pretty good in both those areas going fwd.

So with martin only signing a 1yr extension and the jury still out on archie with another year to prove himself. We are certainly going to have to review our ruck needs to compliment the big O. That maybe a fwd/ruck or whatever.

I also think we will need a tall fwd kicking 50+ goals a year to win a flag. Mcstay may stand up, ballenden, wooller and fullarton may develop and grow into bodies that can handle the push n shove in the fwd 50 and be what we need. I hope they do. But if we have another year of missed goals from our talls its only right they are reviewed. I also think we will be working more on how our fwds function this year. We pretty much just bombed it into the fwd pocket and hoped for the crumb. We have to be more creative with our fwd entries and game plan, and we may need a different type of tall to what we have to do this. Maybe have a crack at darcy fogarty or aaron naughton, who knows.

Thats just my thoughts. We have developed and strengthened our backs amd midfield into flag winning units, not saying they dont have areas to work on, but tall fwd and ruck is the final piece of the puzzle for the future.

Hope you hospital visit went well.

# 1 Offence in the competition this year....strange to me that the forward line needs "shoring up". In saying that, we always should be looking at ways to get better. Improving our list & talent is always something we should be looking at improving. Developing our young talent (Fullerton/Ballenden/Skinner) we have already on our list makes more sense to me.

What like in the same way the Suns club promised they would have a crack this year and forgot... I think he's swallowed too much seawater or something

The Lions & Suns worked out a trade both parties accepted. Clearly there was no lowballing.

If my club had picks 1,2,15 & 20, in addition to all the other rescue allowance privilages , I'd be saying, Callum Who?

There's just no pleasing some people lol.

Boy this might not be the greatest time to jump in and ask this but anyway...

Just wondering on Cutler whether you guys think he could be used as an inside mid? Someone with his size is something we are really lacking at stoppages. I can't say I know too much about him.

Loons.

No.

Hope you're well.

Dodongo thinks the person behind that account is a tool based on some tweets Dodongo has read
He’s one half of the GC fan podcast, if I remember correctly he was 17’er on the GC big footy page, very “militant” you could say. Was banned for being overly aggressive.

I think he also works across the road from the Gabba, and I suspect he’s an ex Lions member.
