Jesse has been participating in some impromptu mdma therapy research sessions if that's scandalous enough for ya. Doing gods work if you ask me.

God created the world in 6 days then took game day off. What has Jesse done?

There is a simple fact about FFC media most may not be aware of or are overlooking.....
Freo now has a state of the art media production facility.
I was privy to a tour of the facility before a Freo moved in and the facts are there is a full scale media production studio.
Freo made no secret that they wanted to produce media for the AFL, hence this investment.

So instead of stringing together hypotheticals about this and that, facts are they are just utilising a resource at their disposal.

I just wish they’d release the around-oval camera footage they take of each session. They have 4 stations for video operators monitoring the fixed cameras plus others.
The cutting and editing is then produced for RTB in said production studio.
It’s bloody impressive to see, and as a fan - I’m just plain thankful for it !
media outlets are lazy.

better to produce stuff and feed the seagulls with heavy favored chips.

Jesse was photographed on his holidays, resting his troublesome feet and relaxing, fully clothed, in female company. Apparently this was ... unprofessional/inappropriate/a risk to his long term health/the end of civilisation as we know it ... take your pick.

I have a spare pitchfork if you want to borrow it.

as a parent of three boys I'm just really struggling with this. Up until now I have been mainly worried about my kids 1. getting addicted to drugs, 2. coward punched, 3. car accident from someone doing something stupid or illegal, 4. getting a job/career that suits them/they enjoy, 5. buying a house 6. avoiding an internet pr0n addiction (in about that order). Now I find that I have to move to the number 1 spot: lying down at pop up bars with head in girl's lap and red bull cans in the vicinity. This just adds another layer of stress.

You clearly imply (without evidence) that the club is more active in the media space than any other club and that it is due to Bell.
Ah you saw through me, and my saying "influence" didn't imply "influence" at all, but was a cunning rouse to clearly imply (albeit subliminally) "all due to Bell" and where I wrote "seem to be" the most active in the media space, clearly I didn't mean "seem to be" at all but sneakily spirited in a clearly implied statistically testable.

I think it's naive and silly to think you're not going to have more or less media-friendly footy departments. It doesn't mean they run the media show, but are more or less inclined to go above and beyond the minimum. Heck, they may even suggest an idea or two.

This may even allow for the fact the footy club may have wanted to go in a more active direction with their media before the hiring of Bell, which may have been something that was a plus on Bell's CV. It doesn't mean that they hired him solely because of his media background, but that just greater assurance he would be on board, more receptive, good contacts and understanding for an active media space. In other words, he could have an influence.

Hey guys, currently working on a Fremantle season preview video for my youtube channel. Do you guys know where I could find the actual stats on things like the amount of games Fremantle got into their kids? I know they had most/equal most debutants but then a stupid amount of games into those debutants (more than double the next best). But it would be good to find the actual numbers out, haha. Cheers.

In 2018, we had 8 debutants for a total of 94 games. 7 of those debutants and 84 games were 1st year players. Would have been more if some thug didn't take out one of our youngsters ;)

It's not the number of debutants nor the number of games played that means the most though imo. Most of those 1st year debutants played in the midfield. Banfield and Brayshaw in particular were in there a lot. Cerra mostly off half forward, then half back but still got plenty of experience in the middle. Giro and Crowden tended to play on the wing. And Jones played as the backup ruck in 5 games. It's not like we just chucked them in a back or forward pocket like most AFL clubs do with youngsters (including Freo in the past). We threw them in the deep end - it wasn't even uncommon to see 3 first year players in the middle together with a 2nd year ruck in Sean Darcy (or Jones/Apeness). No other club played more than 1 first year player in the midfield at the same time - and most clubs played no 1st years in the middle. Short term pain for long term gain. Hopefully it pays off.

Sure thing mate! Here it is.

I'm happy to post the video in here when it's up if people are interested.
Neat though a guy on dockerland does better stuff. your freo v eagles under 23 vid have me HIV, such a hackdorn tier stink piece. The eags were like Freo in 2010 in 2015 all their key players at either the end or the start of their primes. we were on the way out regardless of our list managment in 2016 2017.

Hey mate, we're called 'True Footy'

And the video is here :)

A pretty fair assessment on the whole - well done.

Only two things things missing for mine:

  1. comment on this year's drafting of mature-aged players in Conca, Shultz, Coyler and Bewley to help the kids develop (you nailed our front-line issues and drafting, but our mature-age draft targets were an equally significant development)
  2. comment on the untested depth of our list, and whether a few of our more promising / mature / unknown-quantity fringe players can step up when the inevitable injuries come (Nyhuis, Hughes, Bennell, Switkowski, Logue, Dumann, Jones, Meek, North)

Apart from that, top marks. :thumbsu:

Yeah, they are good questions. I am expecting the 4 bolded to become best 22 regulars, and think the 6 underlined could have a strong case as well. For some it may be an either/or situation, but that indicates good depth, and right now would be difficult to split them;
  • Nyhuis OR Duman OR Hughes
  • Switkowski OR Colyer

We seem to be collecting a plethora of small forwards, most supposedly pressure small forwards.

Let’s name a few

Colyer avg <1 goals
Schultz < 1.5 goal average in VFL
Switkowski < 1.5 goal average in VFL
Matera 1.2 goal average across AFL

Ballas averages 1.5 goal across AFL career

Son Son was averaging 1.8 goals before the midfield move.. Son Son please play more forward and just relieve in the midfield!

And Crowden, Giro (are they small forwards or mids)

Question is if you can’t kick lots of goals in lower leagues it’s hard to imagine they will blossom at AFL level.

Before Ballas was drafted he kicked 75 goals in the WAFL in 2008.

None of the new guys have shown they can do that so let’s not pump the tyres up on expectations. They are role players not game changers.

Examples of role players include Tipungwuti (I’m sure that’s spelt wrong) for Essendon .. averages 1 goal a game, but plays a role.

But gee would be good to snag a small forward with a bag full of tricks! The Wizard averaged just over 1.93 goals a game! Makes the forward line a seriously dangerous place. Errr yeh and exciting to watch.
