Nah no need if they have a couple of players in mind for this draft. They were always going to hit the draft hard this year because Daicos will wipe their picks next year.

Avoiding a bid for Reef before their first two picks is a win in itself. Selecting Henry and Macrae, both in conversation for a top 10 selection is excellent for them. That's a good draft period.

A great way to refresh their list.

You think 24 + 30 was the best you could’ve got? Cmon. You could’ve traded it weeks ago or next year. Melbourne’s first round pick got them 18+19.

Pretty much anything would have been better than that. Get picks next year to use for trade deals. You didn’t have to trade that pick until a bid for Daicos comes in this time next year.

I’ve actually loved the pies night tonight
Henry Macrae and mcinness look fantastic and they’ll get another good kid with the next pick

the only thing I feel they should’ve done is take our pick 17 for the first round pick next year. But splitting their first rounder has netted an extra kid so it’s not all doom and gloom

Impossible to roast anyone on draft night really for years cause we have no idea how any of these picks will turn out long teem

This is a marked change from the last 20 drafts for us.

We would have had around 16 picks by now.

If they had done that, these picks would've been eaten up when matching Mcinnes bid.

Pies were very smart to wait until the Mcinnes bid came in, matched it with later/shitty picks, THEN traded their future first for 24+30.

Actually a brilliant play by the pies, I hate to admit it, they basically get 5 top-30 picks this year now and got Mcinnes for nothing.

Well you cleaned up valuable Salary Cap space, which is a win somewhat. Plus I like Macrae, so I don't the Pies have done too badly out of a shitsandwich of a situation

While those 3 would be good. but trading their first round next year out when next year would be better deals is foolish. If they finish in the bottom 6-8 it would be horrible. You'd hope they make finals again to consider the trade worth it.

Normally they look ok on the night and it takes a year or 2 to work that out

It won’t matter as they’ll probably take the 1 pick in Nick daicos who’s a top 3 pick with a bunch of late picks like you guys did tonight with ugle hagan
