"Currently it gives the Roos picks No.2 and 7 at this year's intake, with the club's new head of player list personnel Scott Clayton telling AFL.com.au earlier this year North would be looking to bolster its backline and target a small forward in the off-season."

with our third and fourth round picks, sure

Worth a crack?

Tariek Newchurch: A lightning quick small forward from North Adelaide who’s currently a member of the Crows Academies AFL Acceleration Squad, yet a potential first-round selection

He’s Adelaide NGA.

His highlight real is fairly insane.

Worth an early bid?

He's mainly been a mid draft prospect at this stage, but you could see him bolting right up the board.

He's not really a 'small forward'. More of a TT, Zurhaar type medium.

He has explosive pace, I think he's going to be a player at the next level. Kicks goals for fun one-on-one.

Exactly.

Who the **** is offering Band 1 compo money for a 4th or 5th midfielder in the current climate?

Probably 'us' is the best answer and there is no way in hell we are bringing in Crouch.

Scary thought... My confidence in "no way in hell" isn't high.

Recruiting Crouch + drafting a couple key position players would not be out of the realm of possibility...

ok. could be North. If picks are Crows 1 Swans pick 2 North pick 3.
Say North want Hollands. And Swans will take Hollands with pick2. Crows get Band 1 compo For North paying extra. so Crows get pick 2.
1 Crows
2 Crows
3 Swans
4 North

North trade pick 4 to Crows for pick 2. For helping help with compo.
So Crows get pick 4 instead of pick 19
North get pick 2 and Crouch.
thought I would have a crack at a trade.

WA key forward enhances draft stocks, possible Freo pick blitzes
Plenty of draft hopefuls impressed in the return of the WAFL competition

By Callum Twomey - 1 hr ago

KEY FORWARD Logan McDonald underlined his abilities as a possible top-20 pick at this year's NAB AFL Draft with an impressive display in the opening round of the WAFL last weekend.

SMALLER POOL? FUTURE PICKS? How will COVID shake up the draft?

In the return of the West Australian competition, 18-year-old McDonald booted three goals in Perth's 10-point win over Peel Thunder.
The 196cm talent had entered the game with strong practice match form under his belt and continued that way, finishing with 16 disposals, four marks and five shots on goal at senior level.

Defender Denver Grainger-Barras was another draft prospect who featured at senior level with a solid performance for Swan Districts.

The majority of Western Australia's leading draftees played in the colts competition as games resumed, with midfielder Zane Trew a standout with 26 disposals for Swan Districts' under-18 side. Trew has overcome a shoulder injury from last year to sit as one of the better midfielders in this year's pool.

Another midfielder in first-round contention is Jack Carroll, who put in a strong performance for East Fremantle with 26 disposals and a goal against South Fremantle.

There are high hopes on Carroll, who is a reliable user of the ball and has played off half-back and the wing, and the smooth mover could rocket up the draft board with a strong second half of the season.

Fremantle Next Generation Academy product Joel Western was another who raised his stocks in round one with 29 disposals and a goal for Claremont. In a consistent performance Western was able to highlight his foot skills, run, speed and class, with the Dockers getting first call on the Indigenous talent.

Isiah Winder also put his name on the map as one to watch with 32 disposals and seven clearances for Peel Thunder's under-18 side. The composed midfielder caught the eye and looks to have developed his game since last season when he was stationed more regularly inside-50.

South Australia's draft prospects also took the chance to impress in the SANFL, with Sturt midfielder Tom Powell continuing his run of form in the season restart.

The inside option, who has quick hands, picked up 36 disposals and 10 clearances against South Adelaide's under-18s side in an exciting showing, while teammate Jason Horne, who shapes as a possible No.1 pick in 2021, kicked a goal from 23 disposals.

Lachie Jones, who is tied to Port Adelaide's Next Generation Academy, also kept up his solid form at senior level for Woodville-West Torrens with 17 disposals. Jones is a strong-bodied half-back who shapes as a possible top-15 pick on draft night.

It's actually not the silliest idea......clever work

Yeah.

When you trade Pick 4 for Pick 2 with nothing else as a sweetener because you have overinflated a compensation pick as the make up currency, yes.

We'd need to throw in another pick for it to work, to at least have the illusion of a legitimate trade for Pick 2.

A more likely scenario would be an under the table agreement not to pick a player and let him go through.

I think we could/would definitely engineer the 2nd pick, somewhere, or player swap, to appease the "higher ups"....although what was the Geelong deal with GCS pick 10(?) last year? Wasn't that weird and heavily leveraged in Cats favour? You'd be more across that.
The bolded above sounds much more like draft tampering to me.
