There are no gauruntees with drafting obviously, but North is not winning a flag in the next 3 years.
I'm not convinced we are right out of it, as bad as we look now. We are close to having the ingredients.
Tarrant a gun KPD, Walker very capable and McKay hitting his straps.
Tagger taking scalps every week in McDonald.
One of the best contested ball players in the comp in Ben Cunnington. Higgins another A Grader. Jy Simpkin was in most AA teams until the past couple of weeks. Two capable wingers in Polec and Dumont.
We have a FF who has kicked the most goals in the comp over three years who needs to find their former touch. Larkey is coming on and is showing he can potentially be every bit as good as Brown.
Goldstein is in great form, still.
As far as 'formulas' go, I can see this turning around very quickly. That's 3 A grade mids, a dominant ruck, an A grade full back and an A grade FF.
LDU takes the next step, or we bring in a gun mid, Brown finds his touch again, and CZ, Tarryn, Bailey, Hayden all come on a little further and we are right back in it IMO.
West Coast had a year where they bottomed out then rocketed straight back up. I wouldn't put that out of the realms of possibility.
It all depends on Cunnington's health and Ben Brown as to which direction our future takes.

Dude - sometimes you need to give posters a dose of reality - and that you have done. Not far off it? It’s hard to accept I know but we are not far off mediocre. That’s the truth.
We are second last on the ladder, having lost our last 6.
We haven’t made finals since 2016.
We rely on old players.
We are, along with Carlton, the longest drought for a grand final in the comp.
I’m not having a go at you mate. But the truth is we are miles off it.

Did anyone see West Coast play today ....we are not far off it ....lol.
The WB employed him as a consultantAnyone know what Stibbard did after building the GWS list?
Looking back he got screwed being knifed for Lewis.
Considering Nifty Nev was constantly picking late in rounds or late in drafts thanks to Uncles Denis & Dean both loving trading out early picks, geeze he had a good eye for 'impactful' players.
Look at just some of his haul:
Simpson
Harvey
Welsh
Pickett
Mooney
Rawlings
King
Petrie
Pratt
Jones
Wells
McIntosh
Hale
J.Gibson
Swallow
Goldstein
Thomas
Tarrant
Thompson
Greenwood
Grima
Adams
#Selwood (honorary selection due to him being overruled)
He flopped in 2003 but so did pretty much everyone. 2001 was the only real blot on his copybook, walked into a superdraft and left with not much.
Ageism aside, I'd like that kind of star player spotting back in our ranks.
Hey GR know a while back there was posts about him having issues with the dogs.
Have you seen anything further?
Or anything about him not nominating for the NGR.
something stinks if we end up with pick one or two and we don‘t bid on him.
Maybe I’m naive, but I’m hoping Brady is a bit more cunning and clever than previous. We need mids mids and more mids with class, but JUH looks ridiculous to me. Can play up either end and is elite with the ball.Do you seriously believe our "nice" administration would ever go out of their way to upset anyone's apple cart? Just look at the way we get reamed by the umpiring fraternity on a weekly basis and the non response that comes from the club. They're more concerned with being "solid citizens", than exhibiting the requisite ruthlessness to take us forward to our next flag.
IMO, it's the biggest issue at the club.

blieving this could be our most significant year in our history for quite some time.
Are you suggesting we don't bid on NGA or F/S?Do you seriously believe our "nice" administration would ever go out of their way to upset anyone's apple cart? Are you suggesting we don't bid on NGA or F/S?
Because there have been multiple recent drafts where we've done that.
If JUH is available and the one we rate at our pick, we'll bid.
Would we put the bulldogs to the sword with all of their draft points for 2020 (2176)?
I'm not convinced we would, but I would be happy to be wrong.

Further to that if the rumours are true I'd suggest once our year is done we send a contingent led by Jy and Jed to talk to him about what our club stands for.

Just send him footage of Jed getting into Cripps. Come to us and you won’t be getting that.![]()
I'm of the exact opposite opinion.
If that situation arose I doubt we wouldn't.
TBH I doubt wed give a sh*t about the dogs drafting ramifications.
If we rate a kid at our pick we bid.
