Bianca Jakobsson becoming a 3-club player and heading to St Kilda. Which means, along with the Van Dyk trade (and presuming the others will re-sign), the Saints now have seven ex-Carlton players on their list:

Ali Brown (delisted 2017), Bianca Jakobsson (traded 2017), Nat Exon (traded 2017), Kate Shierlaw (delisted 2018), Tilly Lucas-Rodd (delisted 2019), Rhiannon Watt (2019 StK foundation player), Jayde Van Dyk (traded 2020).

History repeating, the men's team is the retirement village for old carlton players.

'Straight swap' tells me it's pretty much either pick 12 or pick 15 with maybe a few late picks exchanging hands as well.

Given there's virtually no value in late picks we're effectively doing one of the following:

1) Trading Hosking for O'Dea and Guerin

2) Trading Hosking for O'Dea and Guerin with a 1 pick downgrade

Either way that's a great result for the club.

Great deal. You'd have to call that a win as sad as it is to see Sarah go.

Having O'Dea there will be so good for Maddy, as the opposition will have to pay respect to her too. With Loynes, McEvoy and Egan also rotating through the guts, it's great to have plenty of outside run with Dalton, Walker, Guerin and Brazzale.

You'd expect to grab another good player with the first rounder which should put a lot of pressure on the likes of Hosking, Edwards and potentially even Stevens to keep their spots. Looking forward to the year ahead.

And Gee for the run too. Meep meep baggers.

True that. But I think more than speed of movement, we need better fluidity of movement. Just comparing us with the other top teams last year, their ball movement seemed to be fast through quality of execution, while ours could be fast, but more frantic.

It looks like O'Dea will help with calmer distribution (she seems to have a pretty good step), hopefully Guerin will too.

But yeah, excited to see what it looks like in action.

Just watching O'Dea's interview and was really pleased that her recruitment was something that we completely initiated. It says a lot that Harford and Munro saw her as being gettable and a good fit for us and were able to approach her and manage to convince her to make the move. It speaks highly of the vision they have and the culture they're creating (along with the work of Liddle) to make us a destination club for one of the top players in the league.

Add to that the deal we were able to do and it makes for a very satisfying week for our recruiting team. Go Blues!

Very impressive highlights. Looks a little like Gee in her game style, moves well with good skills. I like this list they’re building with three good picks in the draft to come.

Like her running style with the ball her bouncing was very natural and her kicking looked fluent and skilful, looks quick as well... Great trade period, added some speed skill and run..

I think the Hun made a mistake - we traded pick 56 to Gold Coast for Hammans. So we currently only have picks 12, 28, 36.
