A good reference point for picks.

I did not mean interesting from the point of view of us recruiting him. I agree with you on that. I meant objectively interesting to see what happens if Pies cannot clear the players to get their cap under control. If De Goey spills out and into the PSD, it will be interesting to see what happens given his ability but the serious criminal charges he is facing. If he puts a big price on his head, who bites? Can't agree on it being interesting if I'm honest with you. People have been banging on about the type of character Hartigan is and how he will add to the club in a bigger role than just his on-field contributions, and then you look at De Goey who is, again, facing criminal charges. If signing him was the difference between finishing 8th or 9th, then I'll be happy to watch finals footy from the sidelines. One of the most ordinary characters going around.
How about we just pick Downie with pick 23 then that gives us those 3 picks in the 40’s to see who slips throughWe've got to do something to move pick 23 on. As things currently sit, with 45, 46 and 49 and our 20% academy discount, we can match a bid for Downie as early as pick 15. 23 couldn't be more useless to us if we can't move into the first round.

Or just get the best player at 23 AND DownieHow about we just pick Downie with pick 23 then that gives us those 3 picks in the 40’s to see who slips through
After 2+ years in prison I doubt it. Even without the rape charge he’s had the whole dog bit his arm fiasco. Not someone you’d want in a professional environment on the 1% chance he lives up to his talent. My only wonder is does de goey mature and become the next Dusty?, like Dusty himself did.
Surprise is Bucks hasnt cleared out de goey on character cos he gave 'less colurful' characters the sarse when he took over from Malty
Or that, but everyone is worried about not trading away 23Or just get the best player at 23 AND Downie

The good news is there's going to be close to a month dedicated only to pick trades + live trading on the day. So just because deals aren't getting done now involving picks doesn't mean nothing will end up happening. I personally think we should be targeting future picks.I just feel we should be doing more to get 23 into the top 15. I know we tried with the Dogs but yeah, feels like a very limp step into a rebuild is all.
Id almost say there is 0% chance downie gets a bid before 23 , without playing his one whose stocks have dropped this year . Finn was rated inside of 15 by some last year and only got bid on by North at 29 so they could get extra time.
Finn really only shot up the draft boards because of his combine results. Was around a ~30 pick before then based on what he had showed.Id almost say there is 0% chance downie gets a bid before 23 , without playing his one whose stocks have dropped this year . Finn was rated inside of 15 by some last year and only got bid on by North at 29 so they could get extra time.
But we don't know what we are doing behind closed doors?I just feel we should be doing more to get 23 into the top 15. I know we tried with the Dogs but yeah, feels like a very limp step into a rebuild is all.
Hawthorn won't match on Downie if we believe better players are available, simply isn't how we operate.
As in the national Draft?I hope Cameron goes to the draft and we pick him up. WIN.
If someone picks him up before we do, we move up one spot in the draft. WIN.
Hasn't worked out for us so far. If Irving hadn't done his ACL i'm sure the thread would already have been created about how we passed on him only to end up with Walker who doesn't look likely to ever play a senior game of AFL football.

Would be an upgrade on what we have but is pretty much the same as what we have, good get for some clubs but not us.swans are shopping midfielder George Hewett- any interest? Only 24 and would prob be very cheap. Seems more a defensive mid? Would probably be battling cousins and shiels for a spot.PLAYERCARDSTART29George Hewett

I would be furious if we used pick 4 and a mil a year to pick up a 27 year old that doesn't want to play for us.Doesn't matter which one. That's up to Jeremy.
Yeah, but do you reckon Irving would have got a game by now at the Hawks? I'm dubious.Hasn't worked out for us so far. If Irving hadn't done his ACL i'm sure the thread would already have been created about how we passed on him only to end up with Walker who doesn't look likely to ever play a senior game of AFL football.
