I don't think Murphy should continue next year, but does he really deserve this post from someone purporting to be a fan of this football club?

With Williams coming on board and potentially another mid. If Murph plays it should be purely as a FP. He can still slot them from some angles.

If Betts decline continues maybe Murph can be a stopgap for a year or so.

Time for the next batch to take over the midfield. Cripps Williams Walsh Setterfield Dow Stocker are the future.

Would Saad be top 3 in Lions BNF? Would Witherden of played 17 games at the Bummers

I think it's flawed using BNF'S for a mid table side, then suggesting a player in a too 2 side wouldn't be of value to another

Both have traits we need, both would have a similar trade value

I doubt Saad would be top 3 at the lions but considering he’s top 3 at Essendon, will most likely be in the AA squad, if not the side, I think it’s safe to assume he’d be top 6-8 at the Lions, compared to Witherden not in the best 22.

I have no idea how Witherden would perform at the Bombers, if he did we would have some real evidence to compare, the real evidence that exists now is, Saad is top 3 at Essendon, we will see if he’s AA and Witherden is struggling to hold his spot.

Witherden wouldn’t come close to the quality of the top 3 at the Crows who are last, so I don’t think ladder position helps sway the argument.

When you put it that way it's pretty depressing.

Having met Barker myself he seems like the type of guy players would really like as a person... just everything he touches seems to turn to crap.

Don't know if we can slot him into a non specialist position, but it's definitely time for a change.

Is there no talking Judd into teaching our young mids a thing or two? He could bloody do it all. Inside. Outside.

He's got scope to be a good player, certainly. My impression is that Saad is the greater need at present, but a player like Daniels also fits our list.

In any event, today is a significant moment in our ‘recovery’. Provided it doesn’t go completely pear-shaped from here, it’s a very good day for Carlton. Williams doesn’t die wondering and his choosing Carlton is the tick of approval other players will notice.

Owies has to get elevated from cat b to cat a (if we keep him) so that fills one rookie spot, if Moore were to stay for whatever reason I believe he would move from supplementery selection to normal rookie list so that would fill the other.
