I admire a lot of successful clubs, not to be confused for like. So yes, I admire Richmond, for seemingly dominating with a list that seems meh, I admired the Hawks, the Cats and the Lions, I know stuff all about the a patriots but I admire them, there success is something I really yearn for, for our team.

But what would we argue about?

I’m surprised M Kennedy’s kicking efficiency is only 58%. He is a good kick at goals but maybe field kicking is not so good.

Possibly contested under pressure kicks, most inside mids have a lower %

I'd stick with McGovern.
He has a lot of what we need and I don't know why that isn't showing up.
Maybe he's being troubled by something. Not all seemed right this year.

Look forward to having CCurnow back and we best work out better forward set-ups, movement and structure than we had this year.

I think mcgovern and charlie play the same position, that athletic dangerous fwd with a point of difference, mackay starts for sure, then id have charlie next to him, then cas playing 2nd ruck, just dont see where mcgovin fits right now, but his trade value would be very low this year, another year unless a trade for a needs player can be achieved

Still struggling to understand why he was overlooked for the likes of Deluca.......... Had creds as a small forward as a junior before moving in to the
engine room where he goes from strength to strength.

I don't think McGovern deserves the whack he has copped in this thread. This year has not been suited to talls across the whole league given majority of the games have been in the dew at night or in the wet (especially for Blues games). The shorter game time has clogged the game up, low scoring averages, not exactly a great recipe for a 3rd tall/high half forward who thrives in space.

Next year he will be much better if he can get through the pre-season without injury and the game goes back to some normality. His strengths are a great asset and at least he gives some passion on the field, which is what we lack otherwise. Just wait for a Saturday afternoon in the dry next year.. he will be leaping at everything on the half forward and creating a contest/F50 pressure.

Saad might be interested in the following things, perhaps with varying priority: money, opportunity, history, likelihood of success, proximity i.e. location of training facilities etc. CFC is on par with Essendon in respect of location, history, opportunity. It's been suggested that CFC is ahead $-wise. I opine that Blues are ahead of Essendon in terms prospects for success; but in worst case are on par. On that basis, whilst needing to overcome the attraction of continuing to play alongside existing team-mates, Blues LM team have a ton of favourable interests to work with to get SAAD over. I'll be disappointed if they don't close the deal; at least insofar as gaining a commitment from that player. Whether a deal can actually be done is a seperate issue not majorly in CFC control; I wouldn't be too concerned if CFC cant get an actual deal done.

Yup that was a dozzy of boo- boo. How a professional recruiting department can be so far off the mark is incredible.

They are two seperate issues but once you have a players' commitment, you have to reciprocate that commitment.
I feel that last year hurt us a bit here, even though what we did was the right thing to do. Martin could not have liked being in limbo and we can't afford to have another player in such a situation. It's just not good business.

Really? I think it's critical, as player-managers will be somewhat more cautious going back to that well.

It's a big decision for a player to leave their club, as things stand in the AFL right now and you want to know you have the resources to attain the player you've been schmoozing over the course of the year.
This would obviously have been discussed between player-manager and club and only once a player knows they'll end up at the club, should the signal of the move come out.

Anyway, we know the EFC would not be easy to deal with....and the player-manager will know this....and the player will know this.
It all has to be factored in, as the player does not want to be left hanging.
