Jacob Hopper would be nice...
Tell ya what, so far this year coniglio looks the odd man out in that midfield when everyone is healthy. Tom Green is cripps 2.0 and taranto still to return as well.

He may regret not joining carlton last year.

It's overinflated because he's contracted, and the swans are going to need to get either future hope or current ability for him.

If we're willing to wait 2 seasons - for his contract to expire - then we can pay your market price, but his price is only going up the longer he plays as a lone hand in that completely nonexistent forward line.

There's plenty of small forwards out there :P

Giants have too many good midfielders if they are all up and running with Taranto, Coniglio, Hopper Green, Ward, Kelly and Williams, Whitfield and Greene if required. Would love to shake one of them out.
Can’t help but be jealous but envious of that group a players, wow...

A lot of teams would love him, not many could afford him clearing cap space depending on the club might be retiring club greats at the end of their career or moving on a particular player(s) simply for the cap space, a combination of both...
Simmo is going as good as ever but if the club needed him to hang up the boots so we could land a gun he’d say no problem Kruezer only 31yr I’m sure he’d love to keep playing for another season or two but his body of injuries might have the club make the call on him too... Murphy has said he’s got another couple more in him at least, he’d be the the one the club would find hardest with a decision particularly if his still playing at a good level... Realistically we’d need too make some emotional but tough calls for any class coming in...

Just tell the older guys they can play on but for less money if that’s the case.

The last sentence sums it up for me.
I just have little confidence in Kreuzer’s ability to play a meaningful amount of games in a season. Such a warrior for the club, and could have really been one of our all time greats if not for some rotten luck with injury. But at the risk of appearing to have no sentimentality, if keeping Kreuz/Simmo meant we missed out on a Williams (or another young AA level talent) then I’d have to let them go.
Murph I think has at least one or 2 seasons left. Won’t be at the same level, but really do see him as a real contributor for a while yet.
For all the talk that the rebuild is right on track, these decisions on club legends nearing the end are always the most contentious.

It will depend on how the side goes, if we suddenly catch fire and become finals bound, Murph will probably want to continue on longer, Simmo and Kreuze as well.

It would have to be bulldogs 2015/16 like, when suddenly things progress ahead of schedule.

No thanks.
I’m no expert, but M Crouch seems to me to be the epitome of “Empty Stats.” Gets a lot of cheap handball receives and gives off a lot of dinky sideways kicks. Doesn’t seem to do a lot of damage with it.
If he was a free pickup on a cheap deal he’d probably be worth a look, to see if his style of play could be adjusted. But wouldn’t be giving anything meaningful for him.
Happy to be convinced otherwise, as I confess to not having seen a tremendous amount of the Crows.

We shouldn’t be giving up much for guys who are getting dropped in a side looking worse than our own.

One reason why im all for going after Caldwell and Hately.

If you look at our midfield group compared to say gws. We are so far behind. We dont just require 1 exceptional mid, we need another 3 or 4, to grow together and become a force in the next 2-4 years.

Wines would be nice, but if he goes down for a decent amount of time, what have we gained?

We are still young and need 3 or 4 more quality mids to join Cripps, Walsh and Martin. After those 3, we drop away.
